question: i lost my drivers liscense. i ordered a duplicate. got the duplicate from the DMV. found my original liscense about a month ago. does the original still work or should i always carry the duplicate?

yes as long as the lisence numbers are the same, it will work fine. I' was pulled over once and had only the number memorized and the officer jotted it down,ran it, and he saw my lisence was valid. I just got a ticket for driving without lisence.

If the license number is the same, it is a valid license. However, I think the DMV takes a dim view of having more than one. Why not just carry the duplicate and stash the other one as an emergency spare?

If you really want to know that bad, do something that would cause the police to stop you and check your license.

Some things are just common sense.
