well they should not be allowed to have that kind of temptation, because they will be looking up pics of naked kids or adults and then get aroused and go hurt some innocent child or adult.I heard they are thinking of passing a law for them to have special lisence plates and I think that is a good idea.Thye go to jail but when they have to many privliages while they are there.you do the crime you do the time and it should not be easy for them.

Definetly not. Personally I don't think they should get away with just doing their time. Just look at the Jessica Lunsford case and the recent one involving the 6 yr old boy in GA. ( I know these didn't involve the internet but it shows that doing their time didn't help) They can NOT be rehabilitated and should NOT be allowed out to hurt others. I think your idea of a tag on their screen name is an interesting one but there'd be a lot of ways around it so I don't think it'd really work. I do like the suggestion that 123 had though. That's a pretty good idea!

This is kind of a tough one to answer. First of all, I do not think that any prisoner should have the luxeries such as computers, internet, as we enjoy on the outside. I think they forfeited that right once they committed a crime not only against the law but against society as a whole.
The reason why this is somewhat of a difficult question to answer in regards to sex molesters. Yes, the have committed an atrocious offence against both their victim and against society and by virtue should be revoked of all of their privileges. On the other hand, these felons will be released at some point in time. If given access to the internet, provided that their is an adequate monitoring system, there will be some indication as to their mindset. It would nice to know the intentions of those who will be released back into our society.

They have a right to be able to purchase Internet access just like everybody else. It violates a person's rights to tell them that they cannot use the Internet because of some crime that's in the past.
There's also alot of people who have no business being on the sex offender lists. CNN ran a story the other month about an Ivy League-bound honor student at a high school who had oral sex with somebody on camera and got sent to jail and labeled a sex offender. The statutory rape laws are so ridiculous that somebody who just turned 18 could be arrested with "molesting" his 1-day-younger girlfriend. The laws also ignore whether it is consensual (which is sometimes not the case). It's naive to think that the police, prosecutors, or juries have any common sense after the Duke Lacrosse fraud, the wrongly convicted Border Agents, and the aforementioned Honor Student.
The sex offender lists should also be eliminated because they violate privacy rights. To publicly distribute somebody's address is setting them up to be robbed or murdered. Nobody with a conscience could set up another human being like that.
America needs to wake up and shut down the police state before its too late.

I think the ONLY thing a sexual molester should have is a ONE WAY TICKET TO JAIL (they already have a one way ticket to hell)!
When, in God's name, will our society learn? These creeps NEVER stop molesting! They can't be rehabilitated! They should have their genitals cut off (maybe their hands too) and then let to bleed to death! ! ! These creeps have ruined so many lives!
Sorry, I get really mad when I think about all the damage and pain molesters cause!

I would love to see sex molesters denied access to the Internet. But such a policy would be unenforceable. They would register under a fake name.

It's a bit late now, isn't it?
But the good thing about a sex molester on line is that at least you know he isn't in the bushes just outside your house. Probably.

No, but I do believe that children (even adults) who can't spell, or put sentences together correctly (meaning: using the right words) should not be allowed to access the internet.

They should put them all on an island far away from anyone else or outside contact.
