I was physically assaulted, resulting in a permanent injury. Now I may have to choose which route to pursue:-
A.) Prosecute the offender in criminal court
OR
B.) Be awarded compensation money for pain management costs.
Although I need the financial help, I think I will feel guilty about an offender essentially "getting away with it".
I was a child at the time (15) and did nothing to provoke this attack (in case anyone's wondering).
The offender is now believed to be living with another child...
Please offer your thoughts as I may need to reach this decision in the next few days.
Thank you.

Here is my view on the abortion subject. **Please Note that the following does not apply to certain cases**

I think that if you decide to have sex, you should be expecting a baby. You should know that condoms do not always work and birth control does not always work. It it the function of everyone's reproductive system to make babies, so by using that function you should be expecting a baby. None of this "Well the protection didn't work so it's not my fault." It is your fault because you're the one having sex without thinking of the consequences. And no more of this "It's a woman's body." crap either, because once she's impregnated her body is being shared with another person. If you choose to have that person (the baby) inside yourself, you definitely should not have the right to kill him/her.

I will be adding more (I'm almost out of space), but I want to address something. This does not include women who get raped or women whose life is at stake because of the baby.

could someone tell me why its not possible to have an accident anymore.. An error of judgment instigates a compensation claim, an hospital doctor makes a wrong decision, the patience with a solicitor at the ready calls it neglgence, get me as much money as you can. is'nt it about time that when these Vultures called solicitors were made to pay costs when they lose their vexacious claims. At the end of the day Doctors don't go out of their way to make mistakes. If you clear snow from your front door, and somebody falls over and scratches their leg, in comes a compensation claim, if you don't clear the snow and someone falls over and breaks their neck, then thats allright, your in the clear.... what a cranky world we live in...

I lived with my roomate for over a year, and about half way through the duration of our time together, things started to get tense. He stained the carpet, the bathtub, and never cleaned up after himself or payed his bills on time. When we moved from one apartment to another, we all payed a deposit of 145. Two weeks into our stay here, I told him he needed to leave. He never paid the $150 in bills he still owed to us, and now he says he wants his deposit back. He was not on the lease, so the landlord can't do anything. He also left a mess in his room that I had to clean up. He also never paid his deposit from our old place, even though he caused over 500 in damages! I don't beleive I owe him his deposit. What do you guys think? Thanks so much for your input!!!

A couple of years ago there was a case, I believe in Texas, where a child was on artificial respiration and the parents were poor and on Medicare or Medicaid, and there wasn't money to pay for the artificial respiration via Mediwhatever, so the state wanted to pull the plug against the parents wishes.

What was the name of that child / case? I want to use it as an example in a discussion about difficult ethical issues but can't recall the specifics of the case.

For some reason I believe this took place AFTER the whole Terri Schiavo thing.

Is it true you need two stamps to send a card from California to Nevada? Because someone told me that. Or could it be because the envelope was a little heavy?

What fine would you have to pay in your state for throwing litter out your car window while on the highway? (or interstate, parkway, expressway, etc...)

Also... what other penalty might you incur besides a fine? (For example, in California, I hear a judge might force you to do eight hours of community service cleaning litter off the roads.)

*It would be a great help if you can list the type of offense it is...
i.e. -- Class 1 misdemeanor, punishable by up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine up to $2,500.

Thanks...

On March 17th I did what any normal college student would do...I went to a huge party with a large amounts of alcohol. Unfortunatly my night went for the worst. I had sexual intercourse with a girl who claimed she was a senior in high school. After intercourse she went home and told her mother. The girl is only 15. I did NOT know this, and neither did anyone else. The police showed up and took me to jail. At the time I recieved an M.I.P, and possesion of marijuana, but no crimminal sexual conduct charges. Today however, I was released and one corrections officer told me that my charges had been dropped due to lack of evidence, and then another told me that my charges had been "suspended". I am very scared. I do not want to go to prison for Statitory Rape, the girl lied to me, but as of right now I do not know what is going to happen because of the suspended charges. Please help me, I'm so scared!
