I had a new credit meter fitted fitted 2 weeks ago and still have not recieved a gas payment card despite requesting one on several occasions, I have to call out an engineer every 2 or 3 days in order to get some heat or hot water and it's getting beyond a joke. what can I do for these idiots to send me the card as I'm sure it is an infringement on my human rights or something, can you suggest any legal course of action?

Use this link to the Energy Ombudsman to make a complaint online, and contact one of the daily papers, and se how fast British Gas move then.

I had to do this myself with British Gas about six months ago.

Start calling twice a day and hand the engineer a written request for a card each time. If you become a big enough pain in the ***, they will solve the problem to shut you up. Consulting an attorney can't hurt. Be sure they KNOW you are consulting an attorney.

If you contact the consumer group energywatch, they will contact British Gas and usually problems are solved within a couple of days.

Pink, I'm glad you know what you're talking about - Ofwat is the water regulator and has absolutely nothing to do with gas or electricity companies.

tell them you're calling ofwat in the morning, trust me I know what I'm talking about, they'll have you one out in the post the same day.

You need to sound angry and like you mean it. You say the word 'ofwat' the call gets exculated to a manager straight away! They get fined by these people if they don't supply you with your gas.

Either that or say you're pregnant....same result

go to your local CAB also change your supplier.

i had a similar problem with thm earlier this year when i got my card they started charging me double so i was skint for ages. i sent a letter of complaint and an e-mail and they ignored them both.
i went to the CAB and i got all my money back on the meter.

as soon as it gets under a £10 im changing suppliers.

You live in England. I'm sorry man. Things must be bad. Its sad that America is on its way to becoming as totalitarian and freedomless as England.
