http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?sku=1031775

( the reason why i am not gonna get these two is because there online EXCLUSIVE from petco and shipping for both of them cost 30$ and thats reglar shipping! it cost more than the bettas! and they don't have them in stores only able to get them online)

I had a goldfish, and bought more fish to keep him company (one molly, two tetras, a plecostamos, and two frogs)... one by one, all of my fish died, even my goldfish... The goldfish got bright red spots (like blood) on him, and his fins were either eaten or disintegrated and he had high amounts of energy to being totally lethargic. I'm not sure if it was disease that killed all my fish, but I was stupid and left the last two fish in my tank for about four days... but I didn't know one of my frogs was still alive. The little guy is so full of energy and seems healthy.... but how do I keep him healthy but get rid of the disease/death in my tank?? Thanks!

Hi, just test my water for ammonia
my p.h. is 7.6
my test for ammiona came out at 0.03 green zone below 1.2mg/
I am using nutrafin cycle
and i do 20% water change every 2 weeks
Just got the new hagen testkit
all my other test where ok.

Just i am still new to fishkeeping but learning all the time.
Also i am due some unwanted Goldfish but the problem is, need to setup a tank i was thinking of puting the few fish in a temp tank and using nutrafin cycle for my temp setup(DOUBLE THE DOSE) while the other tank is being cycle.
Would this be ok

I am planning out a "natural" tank for my three goldies (2 calico Ryukins, and 1 red and white Ryukin) It's a 20 gallon (long) tank. I want natural looking substrate, live plants, and real rocks and wood. Other than the compatible plants- do you guys have any ideas for what I can plan my tank out like?

So , I REALLY enjoy loaches and I wanted to get a weather loach or a yo-yo loach but I found out a 20 gallon tank would be WAY to small for those type of fish. Do you know of any kind of fish that's has smialiar characteristcs as loach (their diet, water temp, living condition, compatibility ). They don't have to be JUST LIKE loaches but I would like them to be similar in some ways. Also please tell me a few things I need to know about the fish you recommened. Example:
They eat flakes, breeding is diffucult, should not be around children... ya know, a quick background check on the fish. Thanks you guys!

the hair alge is just killing me ive done 2 bleach dips of the plants and it works for a while. been considering a co2 system , plant growth is good but ive heard a higher co2 leavle will pretty much do in the hair alge . anyone know this for a fact is it worth the $250 for a good system , to get rid of the algee ill pay but would rather only do it if its effictive in getting rid of the hair alge

would rather have a strata heater first.

if i put a male and a female betta fish together will they kill each other? will they mate? or will nothing happen?

2007-11-11 06:05:30 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous

It was an accident actually. My female betta started jumping out of her jar when I would get her attention by tapping on the rim of her jar then I'd sprinkle pellets on the water. Eventually I would just tap on the rim and stick a pellet to my finger, she would jump out and pluck off the pellet! Unfortunately, I never measured to see how high she could go...

It was amazing! Then my little girl put all the pellets into the jar and the betta ate itself to death before I could save her. :( Has anyone else got a performing pet fish?

7 corydoras, 11 platies (5 are dwarves, won't get over 1.5''), 1 paradise gourami, 1 opaline gourami. I do w/c's every week, plus gravel vacuum every week.

Here's a picture, as of yesterday.

I just bought a pregnant dalmation molly, but I'm not sure how far along she is. She's pretty big, but I'm no expert. So, instead of putting her through the stress of releasing her into the tank and then later trying to catch her to put her in a breeding net, I thought it'd be easier (for the both of us) if she just stayed in there until she had her babies. I was just looking for a little advice if you have any. Thanks!

I have had my fish for about a month and a half without a heater. The temperature stayed between 68-70%. I have five barbs and one red tail. Yes I know that they needed warmer water but they adapted very well.

Anyway I added a heater recently and now it stays between 76-78 degrees. My fish prior to the heater would swim around and what not but now they are all over the place. They are following in single file and huddling together and seem to be more vibrant. My red tail even hangs out with them at times.

Should I be concerned?

I have a 20 gallon H, I would like to get some corals or anemones, I would really like to get an anemone for my ocellaris clowns. Not sure which types to get of anything. Also light is still a concern of mine. Which bulbs, which fixtures. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

I just introduced 2 oto catfish into an established 5.5g tank with only 3 small kuhli loaches in it. I thought that both of these fish are peaceful and would live will together, however the kuhlis seem to be ramming the otos.

one a tetra and the other is white with small black dots all over him. I do have a divider at the end of the tank for his betta. The betta has been living in the aquarium for almost a year and has done really well. However I have noticed that the molly (orange) is staying at the very top of the water, she does not swim around like the others. I let them adjust to the water temp when we got them, it has chlorinator and a pump. Am I doing something wrong? We are new to this so I really don't know alot about them (I have been researching though). Can anyone help? Also I have read on here that people have there bettas in the same tank as their other fish - will mine work with these fish?

I have a mini-bow 5 aquarium and it has a double sided light fixture at the top and it doesn't light up the whole aquarium when you put a light in. It goes up to 25 watts. I was wondering if it would be safe to put in a light on each side. It only has one switch though...that is why I'm asking.
