How many dwarf platies; guppies; neon tetras; and corey cats can be in a 30 gallon tank. I have decided these are the types of fish I would like to have in my 30 gallon community tank and was wondering how many of each you recommend fully stocked. TY. (Also; I'm not worried about the breeding possibility; so please don't take that into consideration)

I had 4 guppies for my daughter (all males) and of coarse they attacked each other until only one left. The pet store didn't tell me about this so now we are starting over. I like the gourami fish but don't want them to breed. Any suggestions on a good combination of fish?

I am going to set up a 125 gallon tank and fill it with livebreeders to get a lot of fry. I have a cycled tank for the fry to go in, it is only like 10 gallons. I am going to get mollies, guppies, platy, and swordtail. I want to know what type of these fish are particularly cool. I know I will have black mollies and fancy guppies, but I want to know what sort of these fish are really cool, like dalmation mollies, delta guppies, etc., and how many of each type of livebreeder I should get.

My male betta fish has a swelling in only one part of his body but on both sides... It is somewhere near his belly, been there for over a week.He is pale, but only in the part where he has the swelling. I changed 70% of his water and added 4-5 drops of some anti-bacterial medicine the fish shop gave me. Here they don't have any medicines for fish diseases except for some very general ones.
Anyway, so when I did that, he seemed fine for 2-3 days, he got his colour back and was eating, pooping, flaring and swimming normally, however, the swelling did not subside.
He was normal in the evening, I stepped out for a couple of hours n returned home to find him pale again... The swelling has yet not subsided.
What can I do? I am feeding him very little and he is eating well. I don't have access to any medication except very general ones... Pls tell me how I can help him without using medicines.
Thank you God bless you.

I have a tank that has fancy guppies, mollies, tetra neons, platys, gourmanis and a mystery snail all happily getting along. Water levels and temperature is good. We have only real plants in the tank. I was wondering why and who is breaking the plants in half?

I've seen the betta fish flower vases where there's a peace lily in water and the fish lives at the bottom. Just out of curiosity, does the plant have to be a peace lily and the fish have to be a chinese fighting fish? can the plant be any other plant and the fish be goldfish?

My fish are not swimming about the tank, just sitting at the bottom and they are not eating. One of them had swimbladder and it was treated and was fine after that but for the past 5 days have just sat there. Do you think they are suffering? What should i do???

I have 10 tiger barbs in a tank that also has 2 male balloon mollies in it. I got some female balloon mollies but the tiger barbs are chasing a couple of them relentlessly. Why is this? I know the tigers can be aggressive but why are they fine with the 2 male balloons? They have never bothered them so I thought it would be fine to add a couple more females. Any ideas and will this go away after a couple days?

I had got 3 Swordtail fish afew weeks ago. Two of them are going just fine. The other, in time has went down hill. This fish has lost weight, you can tell it is sick, it kinda looks like a skeloton. The spine is curved, the fins are bunched together. When this fish swims it is more like floping in the water then hangs around the top of the tank. I really thought the fish would have died by now but it is still alive. Do you think it may infect my other fish? Like i said it has been in the tank for at least 3 weeks now and none of my other fish seem to be sick. If you have any ideas on what is wrong with this fish please help.

Hey I have a betta and he has little pebbles in his tank. Do they like big pebbles instead of little pebbles? What i mean to ask is is it OK to put big pebbles in instead of little pebbles?

Also he lives in a 2 1/2 L tank. i was told if bettas are given too much room to swim they get fin probl;ems. Is this true? Would he be better off in a big tank?

I recently bought 4 male fancy guppies. I placed them in their own tank that was cycled and densely planted. Their fins were perfect and there was no damage, but after a week or so, their tails became slightly torn. I wanted to know the reason for this and if they will grow back to the way they were. Please help me!

I baught a guppy that was pregnant and I put her in the birthing device. I feel bad that she does not have much room. So how long are they pregnant and what signs are there that she is going to give birth? Also what size do they need to be to be out back in the tank with other fish?

Recently got a Silver lyretail molly, at the moment the only fish in the tank. I think its a female since it has that fan shaped anal fin. I was thinking of getting her a male to play with.. to be exact, I was thinking of a sailfin (black or silver) Now my question is.. with sailfin mollies how would i go about picking a male? And which do you suggest I get Black or Silver?? (or should i get the orange??)
