The only thing you can do at this point is keep the Guppy's water pristine and hope he can recover. This should be enough of a clue that you should NEVER keep African Cichlids with Guppies. African Cichlids are quite aggressive and will not hesitate to take a bite out of smaller fish (literally)... Just keep the water as clean as possible in a separate tank (clean the Guppy's tank every other day) and keep your fingers crossed... it may or may not grow back...

EDIT: You don't have to get rid of either of them, just separate them and know the temperment of each of your fish to prevent this in the future.

I would euthanize the guppy. It must be awful to have half of your body eaten and still be alive. Don't put anymore innocent guppies in with your yellow! This could have been prevented. If you had done your research you would know they are not compatible.

thats what happens when you add community fish to a semi-aggressive tank.. You said it yourself its a 2 dollar fish.. if its missing a good chunk of his body then most likely he will slowly die.. How big is your tank?? replace that guppy with another cichlid

it would be effective to supply them uncooked, delicate peas, reckoning on how previous they're. The fry, i does no longer supply it to, as they are slightly small. in case you have older guppies that appear like they're able to it, why no longer? a splash bit style in the eating ordinary is solid for the fish. yet just to be on the risk-free part, shrink the peas up slightly.

just saparate them, don't let them near.. put the guppy away from the yellow fish like another jar or aquarium

Half of your two-dollar fish is gone? Hmm...maybe you can take him back to the pet store for a dollar refund
