I have cleaned the substance off of the tank and it has come back. It has no smell and is not effecting my fish.

I've had some problems with one of my tank, and any time I plug the fish tank heater in, the tank always sits at a constant 80 degrees (with it on the lowest setting), according to two different thermometers. Here recently I've had to separate two of my mollies from the other fish as they where way too aggressive for the other fish in the tank (Strange I know). So I started a 10 gallon tank using gravel and water from my larger tank.

Thinking it was my cheap heater causing the tank to be 80 degrees all the time, I bought two new heaters.

So now I have a:

20 Gallon tank w/ 50 gallon filter, and 150 watt heater.
10 Gallon tank w/ 50 gallon filter, and 150 watt heater.

Both have a separate 30 gallon air pump with two large air stones in each tank.

The 10 gallon tank is perfect with, it sits at a constant 75 degrees.

The 20 gallon tank though for some reason has weird hot and cool spots, the front top of the tank tends to be 80 degrees, the back half of the tank is colder, .....

My snail hasn't moved much in a few days, and I am worried about him. I've been keeping my eye on him and he's not dead though. Sometimes his shell is closed up tight but sometimes he opens up alittle (he moves that brown little protective plate thing on his underside, I forget what its called) and I can see a little sliver of pink snail body. But he won't come out. I don't know what could be wrong accept when I was watching the panda cory I put in the tank about a month ago swam over and started kinda banging into the shell and moving it around. Would a panda cory act aggressively toward a snail? The snail is bigger then the cory! what I read about cories said they were docile! IS HE TRYING TO EAT MY SNAIL???

Long story short; while cleaning my tank one day I had to leave in the middle of it. My 50 gallon wasn't filled back up after siphoning for a few days and now there's calcium build up of the inside of the glass. I tried scrubbing it with an hand aquarium brush but its not working. It currently is an active tank so how can I get rid of without removing all my fish?

My betta fish seems to have torn his dorsal fin nearly off. This happened a couple months back. He doesn't seem worse for wear, but the would has swollen and grown dark, as if he is growing new scales there but no new fin. The dorsal fin is attached still by a very tiny bit. I thought at first it was fin rot, but it is not the typical color and is not bleeding at all, not even when it first happened. Has this happened to anyone else? Anything I ought to be doing to help him along? Thanks!

we usually clean his tank about every two weeks to keep it extra clean. When we took him out of his tank to transfer him into another bowl while I cleaned the tank he fell out of the net and my husband immediatly swooped him up and put him in the bowl. Now that we have put him back in his newly cleaned tank he has been swimming around really fast (not how he normally does) and seems to be swimming sideways and seems like he is trying to swim right. He is also discolored now. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

I did a partial water change and instead of adding enough for the amount I took out, I put in the amount for a 10 gallon tank. Now my beautiful mollies are starting to turn straight up and down. Can someone please help me with this. What to do to fix it?

Hi, my betta has been living for 7 months now and is still going strong. He is in a nice sized tank with an automatic heater for chilly nights. I feed him 4 betta bites in the morning (is this too little?) and 1 freeze dried bloodworm @ night. (does he need more?) But my real concern is that he sucks down the betta bites 2 no end lol (im guessing he likes them) but starting 2 days ago, he is not eating his bloodworm. He just leaves it there or puts it in his mouth and spits it out. They r like 5 months old. is that the problem? do i need 2 get new ones? and my betta bites r 7 months old. do i need 2 get a new container? plz help!

Last night when I came home from work, I noticed my betta's fins were like almost gone. Not totally but they aren't the long flowing fins they were. and I swear two days ago when I fed him his fins were fine. I bought maracyn-2 and did a 100% change in the water, will he be ok? (his name's Paco.) He's swimming fine and is as active as he always is. Any suggestions on how to optimize his chances at recovery? I'm so worried about him, I feel like a bad owner.

Ok, I have a 20 gallon aquarium and I've prepared it for discus. I know all about the setup of hardness and ph but now I need to know what other kinds of fish. I was thinking since these are small discus (2.5") I would include neons/danios, rams?, and possibly a clown loach. How many and which fish would work in a 20 gallon aquarium?

As shown here http://www.thebettabubble.com/pgs/fishroom.html . I was wondering how one might be able to set something like that up in their room. Of course not as many tanks but you get the idea. I a 14 year old betta breeder, I have a successful spawn of 5 weeks with some half inch fry that are doing well. I haven't had a single one dead in 2 weeks...well you get the idea. I was thinking betta barracks like those might be best to house my males and even some females that might be aggressive in. I just need to know how to set them up or something like that up. I do have other means of housing them but these seem like they would be better for the fish. I need to know how to get the water filtered from tank to tank so that the fish can get filtered water. Please help. Thanks/.
