Hi, my betta has been living for 7 months now and is still going strong. He is in a nice sized tank with an automatic heater for chilly nights. I feed him 4 betta bites in the morning (is this too little?) and 1 freeze dried bloodworm @ night. (does he need more?) But my real concern is that he sucks down the betta bites 2 no end lol (im guessing he likes them) but starting 2 days ago, he is not eating his bloodworm. He just leaves it there or puts it in his mouth and spits it out. They r like 5 months old. is that the problem? do i need 2 get new ones? and my betta bites r 7 months old. do i need 2 get a new container? plz help!

The Betta Bites are not a problem if he's still eating them. The bloodworms should be fine too... just keep giving him the option of bloodworms at night, and if he doesn't eat them, give him 3 Betta Bites. Feeding him Betta Bites alone is not a problem, they are very balanced pellets...

EDIT: Bettas should live at least 5 years (but can live more than 7 years), a year or two is nothing to brag about...

No, you don't need new food. I would try this. If you want to feed him 4 pellets a day, try giving him two in the morning and two at night.

Bettas can be finicky eaters. He's probably getting tired of the blood worm. Don't give him a blood worm for about a week. Then try using the blood worm as an occasional treat (once or twice a week).

I mix my Betta's diet up, to keep him interested. I use pellets and flake food as a base for his diet and blood worms and brine shrimp as treats.

Edit: I forgot to mention this. Blood worms are great, very nutritious and they are also very high in protein. Feeding your Betta blood worms daily can back up his digestive system- due to the high amount of protein. This is the main reason why I use them as an occasional treat.
