You made this question up last night... It's old and tired... No fish is flexible enough or stupid enough to even attempt to eat itself.

I've been keeping goldfish for over 25 years and have never seen a goldfish "eat" its own tail or nibble itself. Most of my goldfish have been (are) fancy goldfish with egg shaped or rounded body types and have been thick enough that this level of flexibility would be outside of what would be physiologically possible!

Goldfish can "bend" due to a vitamin c deficiency and/or electrical current being introduced somehow into the tank water. I suppose it's feasible that a fish could be in this state and nip it's own tail. If this fish is so severly bent that it can nibble its tail or its body, then please check for a bad wire or other source of electricity being introduced into the tank.

Otherwise, contact a vet specialising in fish and seek guidance.
