I searched the web and there are countless ways to cycle a fish tank.

Should I cycle my tank with fish or without fish?

The fish is over 6 inches and is otherwise healthy is actions and appearance. I don't have any explanation why.

I have 3 baby guppies, and today I noticed that the biggest one had 2 black dots on his/her body. Last time this happened to my guppy fry, they died within 3 days.

I'm just wondering if this is some kind of disease, or are they just getting their colouring? I'm really worried, because I don't want any more guppy fry to die.

They're in a 20 gallon tank, (in a breeding trap, they've been in there for almost 4 weeks now.) and I have a bit of aquarium salt in my water, as well as the necessary water conditioners. I'm not sure about my water conditions, but I'm pretty sure they're better now. (I had bad water conditions a couple days ago, but since I added more water, they're much better) I hope this is enough info, and I really want to know whats up!

P.S. I THINK I might have a disease in my main tank, (20 gallon) but I can't tell what it is. I know it's not Ich- I checked my fish. But I'm worried that two new mollies I got might have brought in a disease. Sry for all questions!

I got a betta fish and I wanted to make it real happy until i got it a bigger bowl because it came in a retarded little plastic cup. And the sotre guy said to put like a few small rocks for it to hide. He said the fish liked to hide even when there was no threats. I have a few rocks outside. Like should I put many pebbles or should I put like one or two medium sized rocks?

I have a pet (very small) red ear slider turtle in an aquarium, and recently (we just put 2 mystery snails in the tank) a weird oily / slimy film that has a rainbow effect in light has developed on the surface of the water. It is obviously affecting the turtle because he avoids it and freaks out if he swims into it. Any idea what the film is and/or its cause?

I have an established 1 gallon tank I used to house my betta in, but now I have him in a 10 gallon. I want to use my 1 gallon for something else so I was thinking shrimp and plants. The easiest shrimp I could find were ghost shrimp at my lfs. How many ghost shrimp do you think I could keep in it and what type of plants would you recommend with them? Also what type of light would be sufficient enough for the plants, but still small enough to attach to my 1 gallon?

My husband and I are moving from Michigan to Montana after Christmas. We have a 50 gallon fish tank full of fish. We aren't going to take the tank with us (we're going to give it to my brother's family) so how do we move the fish?

I obviously don't want them to die in the process. How do I go about moving the fish and getting the tank set up?

We don't have a smaller tank either, just the big one.

I have 3 Striped Peacock Eels. I bought them about a week ago. I have not yet seen them eat, I guess they could be eating but I don't know. Any suggestions on how to make sure they are eating. I feed frozen bloodworms, live tubifex worms, fz brine shrimp and flakes. I also don't know if they will scavenge off the bottom, however there is probably not a whole lot there as the fish they are with are pigs and eat everything in sight. Any ideas?
