The fish is over 6 inches and is otherwise healthy is actions and appearance. I don't have any explanation why.

Bala Sharks do not get pregnant, they fill with eggs... If it is massively bloated, and it took a month for it to happen, the Shark is either carrying eggs or it is constipated. Try feeding it a split pea (a pea without the shell), this will fix the constipation issue... (if it isn't constipated, the pea won't hurt it either)... Try to get some pictures and post a link to photbucket or snapfish so we can actually see what it looks like...

Bala Sharks are not live bearers,so it's not pregnant.Might be full of eggs though.Swim bladder disease can cause bloating.Just a couple of guesses.
