My snail hasn't moved much in a few days, and I am worried about him. I've been keeping my eye on him and he's not dead though. Sometimes his shell is closed up tight but sometimes he opens up alittle (he moves that brown little protective plate thing on his underside, I forget what its called) and I can see a little sliver of pink snail body. But he won't come out. I don't know what could be wrong accept when I was watching the panda cory I put in the tank about a month ago swam over and started kinda banging into the shell and moving it around. Would a panda cory act aggressively toward a snail? The snail is bigger then the cory! what I read about cories said they were docile! IS HE TRYING TO EAT MY SNAIL???

I have one decent size goldfish (just his body is about 3 inches) a snail and a cory in a 10 gallon tank. Do I have room for another couple of cories like soop nazi suggested? by the way, i just checked in on them and the cory was sitting ontop of the snail, just sitting there, not biting him or anything...he didn't bother him when i first brought him home!

I don't think he cares to eat your snail, Cories generally will not attempt to eat snails... It is more likely that your Cory is very curious, and because it doesn't have a proper shoal (3+ Cories), it is trying to "make friends". If you get your Cory a bigger group, it will leave the snail alone, and the snail will be active again.

EDIT: You have room for more Cories, but you don't have room for the Goldfish. Fancy Goldfish will eventually reach 10 inches and need a 20 gallon tank, and Common Goldfish get about 1.5 feet and need at LEAST a 150 gallon tank or pond. Replace your Goldy with 4 Cories.

Corydoras are very peaceful fish, but like a lot of smaller freshwater fish, they like to 'play' with things. This is mostly seen from goldfish most of the times. They'll pick the snail up, take him anywhere, then drop him, and repeat. It's something many fish enjoy doing for some strange reason. My fish usually will do this to the gravel, or live plants if I put any in there. It's normal, usually.
