I have a lot of platy babies 14 weeks old.Are they too little to tell if they are male or female?

Is there a certain age that you can tell if the baby platties are male or female( I have 70). I am selling most of them but I need to keep a female for a friend and a male for another.I am having a hard time.It is easy too tell when they are older but I need to sell them asap due to my guppy just having 52 fries.I don't have enough room for all of them.HELP!!!

yes, you should be able to tell them apart by now
the males have a pointed analfin, the so called gonopodium, whereas the female has 2 halfround fins at the same place

Sexing guppies is relatively easy. Generally speaking, the males have much longer, ornate and colorful finnage, whereas the females tend to have smaller fins and not as much color. Of course, a more sure fire method of sexing guppies is to examine their anal/ventral fin. As is true with most common livebearers, the ventral fin on the male is formed into a pointed device called the gonopodium, a stick-like modified anal fin, which is used for depositing sperm. The female's fin is larger and rounded in order to aid in sperm reception.

You should be able to at this age....although it can take longer and we've had females turn male much old than this, this usually happens when you have alot of females and only a couple of males.

sexing platy's is easy, just look for the pointed anal fin on the male and the round one on the female.

If the anal fin is narrow and pointed it's a male, if rounded, it female.
