Will a MOGUL base metal halide bulb fit a house bulb ouput..
i have seen the pictures and the base of a metal halide bulb looks like the base of a normal bulb..

60 gal saltwater REEF... my metal halide lamp broke. i don't want to buy i new one which is $200... I am planning on getting 2 bulbs each 100 w mogul base... if they fit the standard house bulb output

No, these aren't interchangable. As I said in your question yesterday, a mogul base is wider than a household base so it won't fit in regular fixtures.

You can get adapters, but these are for use with household lighting. I wouldn't advise it for saltwater aquaria. The adapter also makes the lamp stick out further (by the length of the base of the MH bulb at the least). This may make it not fit into the fixture correctly.

you can get mini fluorescent instead.. more bright- less heat - less energy demand..
