Could I have a jack dempsey and two convicts in a 30gal?The jack is already in there so if there was one convict it wouldn't survive without a partner by the way the jack dempsey is 1-2inches long.Any more info needed say so then check later to see if I answered it.

The Jack Dempsey really shouldn't be in there permanently... They will reach a foot and should really have a 55 when it is full grown... While the two are still small, you can keep them in there together, but as they mature, the JD will almost certainly beat up the Convict in his quest for tank domination...

EDIT: 2 male Convicts are just gonna fight until one of them controls the whole tank. Regardless of the other fish, the JD needs a bigger tank.

You really should have a bigger tank for your Dempsey,if you can get a bigger tank for him,2 convicts would be fine in a 30 gallon tank but be aware that if you have a male and female convict you will end up with alot of fry that are very difficult to get rid of.

You shouldn't.One Dempsey is going to push your biological filter to is limits as it is now.Adding 2 more fairly large fish and it won't be able to keep up at all.
Keep the one, make sure you change at least 25% of the water twice a week, vacuming the gravel too,and make sure you have a big enough mechanical filter. If you can keep the water clean,he should be o.k.

Dempseys rarley grow bigger than 10 inches, and with a 12 inch wide tank, its really not recomended to keep it in that size of tank,a 55 or 75 would be better. But like I said, keep the water clean, don't add more fish, and you should be o.k.

the rule is 1 inch of fish per gallon...and with those types of fish, leave some room for them to grow.
