My son & I completely changed the water in our 10 gal tank (only kept a LARGE cup full of old water) and left the rocks in. My son decided to clean the little hard plastic coral w/ a toothbrush that I used 4 cleaning that was soaking in bleach. I could smell the bleach and got worried so I soaked the coral in HOT water so it wouldn't hurt the fish. We filled the tank back up, put the fish back in w/ the plants and coral. Of course, cause we left the rocks in before, the water was a bit foggy, but that's normal so far. I put the stabilizer & clarifier in & a little bit of aquarium salt. 2 hrs later, I went back in & not only was it still very foggy, but the fish were barely moving. I thought, ok could be normal, they are a little shocked. Well, another hour later and they were almost just floating. We quickly changed the water again, this time leaving the coral out. This morning, I went to feed them & 1 of them was hardly moving it didn't eat & is still slowly floating. Help?

I have two small little tank goldfish (only worth a couple of dollars each) but I just got one of them and he likes to swim near the filter (I guess he likes the feeling of swimming against the current or something). Anyway, he was just swimming near it like he always does and I left the room for a minute to get a glass of water and when I came back he was upside down with his tail stuck behind/in the filter. He was taking big breaths and I ran to get my mom. We were able to get him out but not he seems like he is in shock. He is barely swimming but is breathing. I put some salt in to keep him out of shock, and he just layed in a plant for a while. Now he is near the filter still breathing, but it doesn't look very good. Please, does anyone have any suggestions to help him? He looks in pain, but I don't want to lose another fish.

I am going to get 3 African dwarf frogs soon so I looked up on the internet on how to take care of them. One website said to feed them beta food because the frogs don’t touch the frog food should. What should I feed them? And how do I know they are eating it before the other fish? (I have guppies)

And am I over crowding? I have a 10 gallon tank
I have 2 guppies ( I well have more soon)
And soon I well have 3 frogs

I have a 60-gallon freshwater tank that currently contains 9 fairly small fish (4 dwarf gouramis, 3 cory cats, 2 platies, 4 regular gouramis) that have been added in over a matter of a few weeks. We are planning to order some live fish (12, to be exact, about 25 inches of new fish--mostly dwarf gouramis-- all told) from what I believe to be a fairly reputable pet supply company (Drs Foster and Smith). We had, of course, wanted to order them a few at a time, but because the shipping is next day air, shipping is almost $35. This makes us prefer to order them all at once. How terrible would it be to add all 12 at once? I know it wouldn't be ideal to do so, but can it be done with reasonably minimal stress on the fish? If not, should I set my 10-gallon back up for a day or two and put 1/2 the fish in at one time, 1/2 a few days later? If I'm going to spend $$$ ordering fish, I'd prefer them to live. Thanks in advance for answering!

i can not tell if my fish is pregnant. i had a female before and it definately was not pregnant but it for some reason jump out, but i was able to get a different one. this one, unlike the other one, is fat and lighter colored around the belly but there is no gravid spot or at least that i can tell. if needed i can try and post a picture somehow or send u one. i really need help figuring this out cause i want to have fry so that i can start another tank for my girlfriend. thanks for any help is appreciated. she is most of the time hiding under one of the aqaurium ornaments so i dont know if that is a clue or not. i guess if shes not she will be soon. there are two female platies, one male platy, and another male swordtail in the tank with her. one female platy i think had her fry but was not in a breeder container and i think the others ate them. im assuming because there is no sign of them and her spot is gone.

my sebea anenomea has been in my tank for about 2 weeks. I have been worried ever since .at first he wouldnt open and appeared ill i assumed he was stressed from the move, after a while he seemed to settle down and even took some solid food.He still hasnt really opened up though and seems to be having a hard time adhering to the bottom. One time he moved a couple of inches(a week ago) and seemed to leave a dirty looking film behind.I havnt seen this since. He was on a crushed coral but i moved him GENTLY to a sand substrate. I put sand on top of the coral around him and scooted him over untill he was on the new bottom .After a few minutes he adhered and seems ok .....he just ate a bit of shrimp(the move was 2 hours ago. I know this is a hard to keep little critter but through ignorance i have him and would like to see him happy and healthy.....any tips would be welcomed..ps water is usually 0--0--about 5 ppm lights just ok 3 30wt good spectrum for a 45 gal all help welcome thx

If the fin was an arm, the blood is around the armpit. It's been there around a day or two, but it was only tiny the first day so I didn't think anything of it. It's bigger now.

What should I do? It looks a bit sore. I'm not sure how he did it.

Please help, I can't bare Frogger being in pain :(

im so confused on what to do.. my tank has been set up and running for 6 weeks now. im having cloudy water that will not go away. i have a 55g tank. i did a pwc last week and a few days later changed 2 of my 3 filters. im have 2 HOB power filters and a UG filter. i have 5 chiclids, 2 placos, and 2 cats. i feed once a day and they eat everything that i put in the tank. my levels are right where they need to be. nitrite 0, ammonia 0, and nitate 10. im guessing its a baterial bloom, but im not really sure. and if it is what to i do to fix the problem. ive been told to just wait it out and ive been told to do pwc every day till it stops. please help i just want my water to be crystal clear.

I have a 5 gallon fish tank with two young koi fish in it, and they appear to be producing A LOT of algae and it's really gross looking.

My boyfriend and I bought one of those magnets that cleans it off the side of the tanks, but there's still the issue of it growing on the rocks, and it's not that pleasing to look at, and I'm not sure if it's bad for my fish.

I went to a pet store about it and they said to just do water changes once a week, and that doesn't seem to be working for me. He also said that "algae eaters" don't make a huge difference at all, and really.. they don't even do anything. I don't like those things anyways, 'cause they're really ugly.

So what can I do to slow down or get rid of the algae without having to interrupt my fish? I don't think it would be good for them if I were to take them out of the tank every time I want to clean their rocks.

I am kind of tight on my budget now, but could easily afford a FO tank, but not the $750 for live rock for a FOWLR set up. So my question is could I convert a FO tank to a FOWLR tank while keeping fish in the tank, and not restarting the nitrogen, ammonia, etc. cycles. Thank You!
