Hi,
I have 2 females and 2 males (guppies). 1 of the females keeps on rubbing her boddy in 1 of the males and the female keeps on eating the male's poo.... (i fed them about 3 hours ago)...And both female arent really big but are bigger than the males...the females have a black graving spot bug it is small and you can just see it...I know that if they are pregnant they will be big and have a big gravind spot but my ones havent...So i need some help..is it that they are pregnant but just mated with a male? How long does it take for them to give away the fry after the first mate with the male?? And the males doesnt seem to be interested in females at all.... PLEASE help..
Thanks

i personaly a bit about them, but i want to know more....What if my 2 male guppies dont want to mate with my 2 female guppies, becoz non of the males seem to be interested in my females. The females go up to them and touch 1 of the males and the female eats the male's poo...What does that mean?? The thing i want to know is: What if the male doesnt fancy / like the female and doesnt want to breed with her?? Does that ever happen???
Thanks

What is a good website that explains everything that is involved? I would ask for someone here to explain it but there's no reason to reinvent the wheel.

I have a koi named Freddy, he's still very small for a koi, and so he lives in a 40 gallon tank right now. (He has plenty of room, if I put him in a pond at his size he'd get eaten!) Anyways, the tank is a new one. Of course, I let the tank age for three days before putting Freddy and his tank-mate (an algae-eater named Buddy that he's been with for over a year) in, and the pH, nitrates, nitrites and ammonia levels are right where they should be. The water is purified and has been treated for any remaining chlorine and chloramine. The gravel, fake plants and decorations are either from his old tank or were purchased new and soaked in boiling water for five minutes to kill any germs that may be lurking on them.

Okay, so here's the problem: Freddy has these yellowish spots on him, there are three of them, two on his sides and one on his tail. They resemble mold. He's not scratching against the decor or anything. Any thoughts?

Oh, if you're interested, here's a pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/coreinha/Freddy.jpg

I just moved one cichlid from a tank where he was solitary into a bigger tank with five other cichlids. He's been in this tank before with all of them, but now for some reason none of them will eat anything.

I recently got a 5 gallon tank for my betta. The smallest he was ever in was a 2 gallon. I've noticed that in the 5 gallon he just stays at the top all the time. He doesn't really "use" the rest of the water. So I was thinking, is it really that terrible to have your betta in a 1/2 gallon to 2 gallon tank?

I posted a couple of days ago about my missing Oto... I have still not found him, or his remains :( anywhere....

The day after I 'lost' him, I carried out a clean/water change - before I done this, I tested my water levels...

The nitrite (NO2) was reading 0.8, when it has neven been over 0.3 before....

So, done the clean/water change, and today, 2 days later, I've done another water quality test... my nitrite levels are still showing as 0.8... Nitrate and Ammonia are fine...

I have no idea why the level has gone up, and is still up after a water change.... I'm wondering if my little missing fella IS still in the tank somewhere, rotting away.... would this cause the nitrite levels to go up?

I know the level isn't too dangerous at 0.8, but I don't want it to stay like this.... could it be the missing Oto causing this, or something else??

Someone thought it was a funny joke so they put my male Betta in a tank with 2 piranha. They were to small to actually kill it but they ate all of its fins. I now have a Betta with no fins. It does not seem to be injured other than the fact that it has no fins, and it is still swimming around. Will his fins grow back? The fins by his gills are still fully intact.

The tank was ran for about a couple of days. I had the water in the tank as well as the tap water tested. Water was room temp. Everything was fine. We added our beta, feed it "Beta pellets" once a day as recommended. My wife checked on it, everything was fine, the next minute it was siting on the bottom belly, up dead. What happen?

I have a male and female betta I have conditioned them both for 2 weeks. The male has built his bubble nest. The female has eggs and vertical lines on her body. I have them in the same tank now. The male chases her and flares at her and she just swims away or hides in the plants or sits on the bottom of the tank. He has nipped at her but she has no damage and is pretty quick so he has trouble getting near her, so I am not worried about her being hurt yet. I just want to know if she would be acting like this if she is ready or if I should take her out and wait longer. This is my first time breeding bettas and I have researched it, I just want to make sure I do everything right? What do u guys think
