i don't want to kill my frys and i'm not that sure if it can hold 40-50 guppies that's too much for my 15 gallon tank..

i just want to know how many frys it can hold without them being unhealthy.

For adults, your tank could probably hold about 20-25 fish. Partly, this will depend on the gender (females being larger), your filtration, and your feeding and cleaning tendencies. You can determine gender in just a few months, so it wouldn't hurt to get more fry than you intend to keep, then return the ones you don't want to keep in the tank to the pond. Fry need to be fed more frequently, but in smaller amounts than adults. This can lead to water quality problems, and having them be overcrowed can suppress their growth rate. Just remember, if you have both males and females in the same tank, they'll reproduce and overcrowd it as well.

Almost any fish will eat the fry, so that might be a good method to thin out the number in the pond - just be sure they can withstand the temperature range if they're left outdoors all year, and they aren't large enough to eat the adult fish.

Your tank should support 30-40 adult fish. I'd tranfer about 50 fry and see how it goes. An airstone will help a lot.

W.r.t you r pond, why don't you get a fish that will eat some of the fry in the pond. A pair or two of Paradise Fish will do at least as will as the Guppies outside, won't harm the adult Guppies, and they won't eat all the fry, just control the numbers so that the survivors are less crowded. The Paradise Fish will themselves be in very good condition.
