I just moved one cichlid from a tank where he was solitary into a bigger tank with five other cichlids. He's been in this tank before with all of them, but now for some reason none of them will eat anything.

They are all afraid that you are trying to fatten them up so that you can use their fur to make a coat!!!

Cichlids can be very aggressive, especially when just introduced. He may be the "bully" of the tank for now, but if he is the right size and you have the right size tank he should adjust. A good way to help reduce the stress of the original fish in the tank would be to purchase a clear specimen container with holes in it. Put the Cichlid in their and leave him overnight. This should get the fish used to having the newcomer in the tank. Note: Make sure you direct your powerhead at the specimen box, as water movement is important in such a small container. Oh, make sure the container is clear.

Cichlids are very territorial. You probably blew their little minds throwing in a new fish. You should move around anything in the tank (plants, rocks, etc.) so you force them all to establish new territories. I wouldn't worry about them not eating for a day or two as long as everything is is OK, water, temp., etc. Wait till they all gather near the top when you walk past or are just standing there, then they're ready to eat.

Cichilds are very much territorial. You just put fish there and do nothing? Put a divider, that would just soften the tension.
