It was an accident actually. My female betta started jumping out of her jar when I would get her attention by tapping on the rim of her jar then I'd sprinkle pellets on the water. Eventually I would just tap on the rim and stick a pellet to my finger, she would jump out and pluck off the pellet! Unfortunately, I never measured to see how high she could go...

It was amazing! Then my little girl put all the pellets into the jar and the betta ate itself to death before I could save her. :( Has anyone else got a performing pet fish?

Nope but I would love to train some of my goldfishes. Check out this website, it has videos of fishes doing nice tricks: http://www.fish-school.com/index.html

I'm gonna buy that book soon and give it a shot. I like the football and soccer trick the most.

I've never seen this before, but there is a good chance all that tapping would have gave the poor fishy a heartattack after a while! The noise inside the tank is 10 times louder than on the outside. This is why at a fish store they have signs up to not tap the glass... :P Your fish most likely died from high ammonia levels in the water after your little girl dumpped in all that food, it gets yukky quick, bettas aren't usually known to eat too much food.

well it depends on what kind of fish and well you feed it live or frozen foods you really can't train a fish to be extra aggressive or I can be wrong about the whole training thing but just feed them live or frozen foods
