I have a new fish tank that holds 28 litres of water?

what sort of little peaceful fish should I put in it with neon tetras.How many fish can I put in my tank?

it's about a 7 us gallon tank
you will need a heater as well, which needs to be set around 78 degrees or 26^C
You could keep 6 neon tetras
get a male or female betta as a center piece
up to 3 cory cats (bottom feeder)
another school of 5 rasboras

Noen Tetras usually go with about any community tank fish. Other tetras are great and there are a wide variety. Bloodfin, Glolight, Rummy Nose, Red Eye, Blackskirt, etc. They are all peaceful fish. Tetra are better in groups of 3-5 or more of same type. Outside the Tetra family, small cory catfish, platies, and zebra danos are cool.

As far as your 28 litre aquarium, you are roughly looking at a little over 7 gallons. The rule of thumb usually is an inch of fish per gallon. I have also read one fish per gallon, but in my experience keep to smaller species if you do this. If you keep your tank well filtered and clean, then you could probably exceed this by one or two fish, but take into account your fish will grow. If you adhere by the rule of thumb will assure a healthier tank for your fish to grow. If it's overcrowded the fish will not thrive as well.

My suggestion, get 5-6 Tetra that you really like and maybe 1 cory catfish. For a little variety you could add a couple of ghost shrimp. But beware eventually your catfish my eat the shrimp. Either way they also help promote a clean tank.

Tetra do better in groups of the same. If you want to mix the tetra, Neon, Glolight, rummy-nose, and cardinal tetra are good and in my experience they tend to school together. (Maybe 3 tetra of 2 types, example: 3 neon and 3 glolight).

Keep filters changed regularly and changing 1/3 of the water every other week will help with the tank maintance and promote a healthier tank.
