im so excited, im a grandma AGAIN .. my guppy had 9 tiny babies, was expecting more, due to her extreamly large belly and really dark gravid spot.. she had 9 babies last time also, does that mean anything??

Today I received a male pearl gourami through special order and it had a dent in front of its dorsal fin. It is also pale and has a few scales missing.

Is a ten gallon tank okay for a peacock eel? has anyone out there successfully kept one in a ten gallon? It also has 4 platies in it.

i bought them at a pet store by accident when i was buying neon tetras, but the idiot who was selling me the fish didn't know what a neon tetra was and gave me these instead. I'm pretty sure they're freshwater cuz i have them in a freshwater tank and they haven't died yet.

if you know what they eat please tell me because i dont know if i have the right food for them

i read in one of the question awnswers that tiger barbs will kill a pleco. I am planing on getting a 90-125 tank i want to get at least 6 tiger barbs and a pleco. will this cause a problem? i also want 3 bala sharks, a red fined shark. some dainos( zebra,giant,long finned,albino and mabe a glo-fish). some other kinds of barbs. and mabe some black mollies from my other tank. will this work? any sugestions? I know how to set up a new tank so dont write about that.

I've already asked how to treat my fish with their symtoms..now that i am observing the fish i see that one has fin rot the other has columnaris and the other has ich!!!! does this stuff stay in the aqaurium forever...??? if i were to introduce a new fish what were to happen!!!! would the new fish in the aqaurium....(by itself) get one of these disease's????....How does all of these aquarists take care of so many fish....it so hard!!!!!!!! and i am dealing with freshwater..here nothing out of the ordinary!! ... all my fish are going to end up dead and i cant really do anything about it...does a 55 gallon tank need a bubbler or no???

i just bought some "Plant Gro" aquatic plant fertilizer, and it says how much to add to my aquarium (2.5 mL) but it does not say how often it needs to be re-added. What is a good way to tell when you need to add more?
Contains:
.15% nitrogen
.0005% boron
.0005% copper
.26% iron
.05% maganese
.0007% molybdenum
.003% zinc

five gallon aquarium, 12 inch 8 watt flourescent light bulb, only two plants- jungle vallisneria and one other one i dont know but it has broad leaves

My roommate's betta has had a swollen belly for a while now, perhaps 3 weeks and today his swelling was down completely. But at the bottom of the bowl was an unusual looking thing. It was reddish brown and about the size of a small pea. It almost looked like pack intestines with the shaping of it. The fish is back to normal and fine, but the object in the bowl is odd. What could this be? It lives with no other fish and is a male.

ok this fish that our sister in law had gven to us to put in our hugefish tank is very wierd. She did not know wwhat it is and niether do we... this fish is Black with white spots all over it, and chunky as well. It also has catfish whiskers.. when we went to put it in the tank, it made this awful screeching noise and snorting nose, it was just horrible.. Dealing with what I just said, maybe someone out there will know what this fish is!

Any comments are welcome to try to discover what this fish is..

i have 2 male bettas in on tank but there is a glass divider some how it got moved over just enough and one of them went into the others one got beet pretty bad but is still alive any meds or any thing to help him i took him out and put him in a small container like what he was bout in but any thing else he is having problems swimming for a long time thats why he is in small container

I have have a 30 Gallon set up of Fresh Water Fish, but recently my fish started dying so i went to my local pet store (PET SMART) and took a sample of my water and the guy told me that i had a high level of Nitrite or Nitrate and thats why my fish are dying.

So I wanted to know if saltwater fish are less complicated to take care of?

I just started a reef tank (after over 10 years of being out of the hobby) and i don't know what chemicals/supplements i need to add to the tank and also, what i need to do. here is what i have at this point. the tank 50 gallons and has been running for a week now. I have a skimmer, pc lights, sump, 60 lbs of live sand, 70 lbs of live rock, 3 damsels, 20 hermit crabs, and a few mushrooms that were given to me (don't know if they'll live, but we'll see). i'm dosing calcium, iron, strontium...and i'm using mixed salt...meaning, it came in a bag. i know that i want to add iodine, but i can't remember what kind it was that the skimmer doesn't pick up, and also what else do i need to add? can i keep basic corals like mushrooms at this point? also, what else can i add to speed up the coraline algae growth? i know i can add that stuff purple up, but it seems that all it had was calcium, so i didn't see a point. any suggestions on anything else would help too. thanks.
