wont the barbs "nip" at the two things hanging under the gouramis? Ive never had them and the pictures ive seen they have those two things hanging down. I have mixed a zebra daino and a tiger barb before. i also had a scissortail in the tank. they all got along fine

as long as you keep your tiger barbs in a group larger than 5, you should be ok. Tiger Barbs are jerks, and will nip at other fish if they are in smaller groups - Same goes for Giant Danios so be careful with them too.

I had a group of Giant Danios eat rainbow sharks, lots of cory cats, etc.

your Pleco will be safe to most of the more aggressive fish, they have an armor like scaling, I've sliced my finger on their fins before.

also keep in mind that bala sharks can get huge...

The tiger barbs shouldn't cause any problems for the pleco in a larger grop like that. There is the potential for them to nip at the smaller danios a bit. The first potential problem I see is the mix of large and small fish. The balas will get quite large and the red finned shark can get some size too. The balas won't hesitate for a minute in eating any of the smaller fish you mention when they catch them so you might want to rethink the balas or the small fish. One or the other would be wise. Even with such a large tank, I wouldn't go with a common pleco. Think about bristlenose or zebra pleco. Not only will they be better suited for the tank, they are realy cool looking.

No pleco is sufficiently small for a 5 gallon tank. Even the smallest dwarf form pleco is approximately 4.5 inches, and that's in basic terms too great. Your 5 gallon tank is at that is stocking decrease. i might advise spending your money on a grasp attempt kit as a exchange. Your person-friendly pleco would possibly no longer appear as if that is getting larger, yet I assure you that is growth is stunted and that is inner organs are nevertheless turning out to be. that is sluggish thank you to die.

The larger the tank the larger the shoal of tiger barbs will need to be. Even when I had a shoal of 20 in a 55 gallon and they still managed to beat up on some species of fish…mostly docile ones. Tiger barbs do better with species of fish that manage to defend themselves against their abuse; larger danios, barbs, aggressive loaches, gouramis and “sharks.” I’d skip the mollies and smaller species of catfish like corys.
