I have several types of fish (most in the Tetra family),and to sit and look at the aquiram, you wouldn't think any fish are even in it.They are so lathargic, they don't hardly move at all.I've had my water checked, and it proves to be perfect...ph,ammonia,nitrates etc. It's like the are sick! There are two fish I have (don't know the name for them),but THEY are wide open all of the time, chasing each other, playing etc.
I have nine fish altogether. What could be wrong with the other seven? Thanks,
GreggNC

She's in a 2 1/2 gallon tank. No filter. Artifical Plants and a fake shell in the tank. She's about 2 1/2 inches long. Does this sound bad? If so, what should i do?

My goldfish keeps on swimming to the surface and she seems to "sip" up the water for about a minute at a time. She does this continuously. I know that with bettas, they will "sip" the water to produce oxygen through their laybrith organ. I don't think goldfish do that. I don't know what's wrong with her.

I have had my 10gal tank for almost a year. A few tetras, couple cories and an autopleco. Except for one tetra at the begin of this setup all of my fish have been fine. Recently I noticed one of my cory cats appeared to have its main fin either bitten or deteriated. It was swimming good and eating well. I tried to see if any other fish had any sign of being bullied or any disease, but all appear fine. Yesterday the cory had red dots around its gills on both sides, but was still eating and swimming well. This morning he was dead. I do 20 to 25% water change a week and clean my filter sponges once a month in the water from the aquarium that I filter out. All levels are good. Please help, I don't want to lose the other two.

For those of you that were kind enough to reply with reassuring words ..... Thank You!! To the person who said "just flush him; it's a damn fish" .... SHAME ON YOU!! When you have an animal be it a dog, cat or fish and have taken care of it daily it becomes part of the family and he wasn't considered "just a fish".

I wanted sharks, however, I realize that this tank is far too small to contain any real number of them so I am looking for a different assortment. At this time I have no room to expand the tank at least in the near future.

I have a female guppy that looks extreamly pregnant.. i have noticed for about the last month and a half that she is getting fatter and has a really dark gravid spot.. i am doing 25% water changes every 4-5 days. i had other guppies in the tank with her but have since taken them out so she can have some room..
What do you think is wrong with her ?? as i said she has been pregnant for over 1 month now .. she has had 2 drops previously that were 21 days apart and no problems as far as i could see.
thanks in advance

It's freshwater. It was sold to me as a "blue whale" and not to exceed 2 inches in length. I've had it 5 years and it's almost 6 inches. I think its some sort of catfish. This is the best pic I could muster with my cell. I think it's a catfish, but what kind? scientic name or common name please
Thanks!

ok, so technically i have been breeding guppies ever since i could remember, now i bought 2 male and female tiger barbs that i do not know how to feed and breed them.....did i have spent a lot more time in livebearers than egg-laying fishes.....what do u feed tiger barbs? and can a 15 gallon aquarium hold 3 of them? my male and female barbs are killing each other in a 2.5 gallon tank! the male is fleeing from her! and now i want to add another healthy female with these two sickly barbs with parasite...but first i will cure em.... can anyone answer all of my questions above? can a male barb fertilize 2 female at a time can they all breed in a 15 gallon tank with lots of rocks and hiding places but no plants since they carry diseases? answer please!

I had two mollys. One of them died and that was due to the water. The other one began to live well with the other fishes. They are in a large bowl and I will soon upgrade to an aquarium because that is bad for them.Anyway one morning I want to feed them and saw a very tiny molly roaming and circling in the water. The mother was taking good care by keeping the fishling away from other fishs. But when I came back from downstairs, telling everyone about it,I couldnot find it.My mother had also seen it but my father could not.It was I think eaten by the molly's mother. Why did this happen and how to prevent it.
