I had two mollys. One of them died and that was due to the water. The other one began to live well with the other fishes. They are in a large bowl and I will soon upgrade to an aquarium because that is bad for them.Anyway one morning I want to feed them and saw a very tiny molly roaming and circling in the water. The mother was taking good care by keeping the fishling away from other fishs. But when I came back from downstairs, telling everyone about it,I couldnot find it.My mother had also seen it but my father could not.It was I think eaten by the molly's mother. Why did this happen and how to prevent it.

For fish & fish babies, there are containment units that can be clipped into the tank to keep fish away from fish and ... fish who eat their own babies separate from them as well.

Look for breeder boxes. :) Good luck.

livebearers like mollys and platy's will eat there fry. Its normal so you have nothing to worry about. If you wanted to keep some of the babies, you need a breeder trap or a net, this will make sure they ar separated from the mother and other fish in your bowl. You dont say if you have a filter in your bowl, if you dont its unlikely that the fry will survive as they need extremely good water conditions to prevent them getting weak and dying, you'd need to feed they often so sometimes its quite hard to keep on top of the mess. If you are looking to breed them next time, its a good idea to have a 2nd aquarium set up just for the babies as they will grow alot quicker in a tank of there own rather then a breeder net. good luck

a woman molly could have infants each 30 days after in basic terms one spawn, so despite in case you do away with the male, you will nonetheless get infants for a jointly as a minimum of. there's a manner you may tell the boys from the girls by way of the fin that's below their bodies. The women have a fan shaped fin and the boys' fin is greater like a closed fan, greater pointy. a number of those little infants are incredibly speedy and in the event that they have places to conceal in like flora and rocks and stuff they won't all get eaten. once you feed the tank, overwhelm the countless flakes up into incredibly much a powder for the infants to consume.

Livebearers do taht cause they dont eat for days before the birth, so they are really hungry when they give birth. Like for example, swordtails are supposed 2 have like 20 babies at least, I came home last night to 4. Thats why they make breeders nets

The mom probably ate the fry herself, it is not uncommon. There are several ways you can fix this problem, the most common is to use a breeding tank.
