You know, there is an old saying that goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". That applies here I think. You say he's active and looks healthy, well that all we can ask for isn't it? I say just keep doing what you are doing, sounds like it's working great.

He will eat the wafers when he wants them and eat as much as he wants. He will probably start eating more of it soon.

I'm sure he is nibbling on it thru-out the night. If he's still a little guy he probably can't down a whole wafer anyways. Try maybe splitting the wafer in half and placing them on either side of the tank. Then check in the morning to see if they have moved. Honestly, my 8 inch pleco can hold the whole wafer in his mouth, but rarely does he even finish it.

i got 2 albino bristle nose plecos about a week ago also with the same situation. i was only giving them the wafers every other day, though, because i do have some lovely algae i want them to eat first! anyway, a week doing this and never seen a wafer touched until yesterday! i don't know if they just weren't sure what it was until then or if they weren't hungry, but now they really like them...i just have to remember not to give them too much so they remember to also keep my tank happy.

anyway, give him time. he'll figure it out / get hungry sooner or later!

Most likely he is nibbling the wafer but because it is a new environment for him he may be a bit on the not hungry side. Also you may want to check your PH level and temperature to make sure they are proper, because that can give them a loss of appetite also.
