Mollies,Guppies,Platys have young about every 28 days if conditions are right.Like humans they develop an acute waddle like gait towards delivery time and seek a quiet corner to lay. They usually give birth early morning.Best way to keep as many as possible is to have a spare heated tank to pop the mother in once you spot the first ones appear.
The in tank plastic livebearer cathchers are not really suitable as Mollies are prone to stress.A large healthy female can have over 100,I hope you have a big tank ! Regards Roger

Usually 25-30 days. The Gravid spot will grow darker and near the day of delivery you can sometimes see eyes of the unborn fry as tiny black dots. Sometimes a female will become rather still and will try to find a hiding place to give birth but don't but her in the birthing tank to soon other wise she will get stressed and loose the babies or worse die herself...

Usually 25-30 days. The Gravid spot will grow darker and near the day of delivery you can sometimes see eyes of the unborn fry as tiny black dots. Sometimes a female will become rather still and solitary near birthing or try hiding behind rocks or plants. The mother usually will not eat when in labor. (don't be fooled by her taking in the food and then spitting it out without eating)
Make sure you have plenty of floating plants in your tank in case you miss the big moment (lasting 4-6 hours).
Have fun. (my black bubble molly just had fry this morning)

28 to 32 days depending on the species, the health of the fish, and the conditions in the tank.
