Fish - January 2007

has anyone tried to put these in a tank together. ive read some places its ok, and others that it is not. i was wondering if anyone has done that?

I am not a aquarium novice. But, I mostly used an under gravel filter before upgrading to a larger tank and a diffrent filtration system.
The whisper 60 has two BIO filter cartridges (individual flow).
My ? is ... Should I change both at the same time or just one at a time ?
I do not want to kill/destroy the good bacteria that the old filter(s) cartridges has established.

No ... This is not a TetraTec 300/500 in which you would just "shuffle" the cartridges.

Yes ... This "new" tank was properly "cycled" .
If you own one of these, or if you have any information regarding my question, please answer.

and what are the cheaper ones, Im trying to find a filtration system but not sure what one I should get, just tell me what one(s) u would reconmend.... I dont want live rock now but probably wold add some later down the road, if that needs to be considered, but right now I just want something I can use on a fish only system first. thanks!!!!!

i have a 10 gallon tank just for feeders, but i was wondering i don't have a filter for it yet but i have 15 rosy reds in it, my water is really cloudie, but since i don't have a filter yet, will the cloudieness in the water ever clear up? i have a gravel siphon and i clean the gravel like ever day, just to act like a filter.

hey, i would like to know how long does it take for the baby fish to grow. I currently have 11 baby fish and I already seperated them from the mommie so she won't eat them and their doing great. but i would like to know how long does it take for them to grow to the normal size? thanks.

he floats right above this rock decoration i have and hardly ever leaves eccept when scared i dont know the gender or age. hes a plecotomanus or soething like that. i have an oscar and koi in the tank with him in a 10 gallon tank and soon ill get a 70 i said that because the fish and tank size could be the problem but other than that is there any other causes or is it caused or related to that

Just out of curiousity, I am wodering how does aquartic plants such as baby tears start off? Do they start out as a seed or u have to have its stem or roots to grow it? I saw this topic on this aquartic plant forum saying that there r bulb of a plant that u can dump into the water and in a week it will start growing. Anyone can provide me some information on these?? I want to add some more plants but I want to start them off as a seed or bulb. Also any idea where I can get them? I checked my LFS already they dont have such things. Any online sites that sells it would be nice. Thanks for the helps.

This fish is a live breeder we woke up one day and the tank had 8 additional fish all look the same as the original. the fish was given to us we didn't expect to wake up one day to 8 babies they all have very dark black spots all over them.

I have a fish tank and my beautiful oranda has something in his upper find. My silver dollar fish has the same problem in the upper find. How you cure that condition? The fins looks white and tear and there is some blood near the tear area.

Hey, my goldfish whom I bought yesterday gave birth to little baby fishes, I would like to know would it be safe to seperate them from their mommie or should they be kept with their mom until their a little bit bigger. Also, they started to eat the flake food when I make it into tiny little pieces, they were born last night. I don't know much about baby fish thats why I would like to know. I just recently got a 30 gallon and since my 10 gallon is too crowded, I moving my fish into the thirty gallon. I had 6 platies and 6 cories if anyone wants to know, there are only a few other fish with them, so its not overcrowded. Anyway, now that my 10 gallons free, I decided to get a female betta instead of a few, small tropical fish. If I can I want to get two, but I dont know if they fight or not. I know you cant keep two male bettas together, but haven't heard/read anything on females. They would have a heater and filter, plus aeration since thats what my previous fish had. My sister has a male betta, but I have never had a female betta, is there anything I should know about them? Please Help!!!!!
Thank You!!!!!! :) Also, what are some fish that would be good w/ female bettas, I dont want anymore cories!!!! Not that I dont like them, I would feel bad for them because the otheres were in a 30 gallon!!!!!

My fish has gotten WAY bigger than when i got it and i havnt fed it alot. Its stomach is bulging, so i dont know if it ate all the food or its ready to breed.
