I tried to breed bettas once and read all about them.If the females stomach has big and round it's a good sign she full of eggs and if her oviospout is prominent, this will look like a small white dot at the bottom of her belly. Her colors will also be bright and if shes a more natural betta she'll have vertical dark bands running from the bottom of her belly to the top of her back. Since bettas aren't live bearers she cant be pregnant but full of eggs. The male betta embraces her and the eggs fall out of her and he put them in a bubble nest, so they hatch in the nest. Here is a site about bettas and breeding them http://www.bettas-jimsonnier.com/
and another http://www.bettysplendens.com/articles/catview.imp?catid=884
and another http://www.plakatthai.com/ plakatthai is the siamese word for betta. hope I could help.

Please separate your betta's immediately. you may desire to on no account shop a male and lady betta interior an analogous tank except you intend on breeding them, yet with breeding, the two male and girls human beings might desire to be mind-blowing conditioned previous to being presented to a minimum of one yet another. Are you beneficial you're actually not overfeeding him? Many betta proprietors by twist of destiny overfeed their betta's, questioning they choose extra foodstuff than they actually do. the dimensions of a betta's abdomen is actual with regards to the dimensions of one of their eyes. understanding that, one betta purely desires approximately 3-5 pellets on an popular basis, and easily a tiny little bit of bloodworms/brine shrimp/and so on. 3 to 4 situations an afternoon. i might incredibly propose fasting your betta sooner or later a week to make beneficial that their digestive equipment is working mind-blowing and does not clog up, that would reason bloating and/or constipation. If he's not eating, and seems bloated, he in all probability has dropsy or yet another ailment. Are his scales status erect like a pinecone? if so, attempt your water immediately. Dropsy is a very quite often deadly ailment that's fairly common in betta's and goldfish, particularly because of the fact human beings do not know a thank you to guard their fish mind-blowing.

Female Bettas never look pregnant. If she looks pregnant, then she is probably carrying infertile eggs.

Here is a site that answers your basic question:

And here is a site that talks about what happens when Bettas breed:

Hope this helps.

She can turn gravid (not pregnant, not a livebearer) quickly. Courting usually takes a few attempts. The biggest indicator is her stripes will change direction. If she's gravel it looks like she swallowed a marble. Not a round lump, but big like that. Make sure the tank is heated. If they flare at each other with showing each other their bodies, good, if they flare face to face, bad.

Bettas do not get pregnant they get egg ridden, when they are ready to mate the male will squeeze the eggs out of her and fertilize them at the same time and then pick them up and put them in his bubble nest. PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU MATE THEM, THEY CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT.
