african dwarf frogs and male bettas, if started in the tank at the same time (or add the betta to the tank after the frogs are established) should do okay. now, depending on your bettas temperment, they might fight a little bit. the only way to know, is to try it. if you see them fight in the first couple of days, then i'd separate them and put the tanks next to eachother, so they get used to eachother, and then try putting them together. just keep an eye on them.

african dwarf frogs and bettas are the same in what they eat, and the way they breathe. they both have 'lungs' and breate the air at the top of the tank as well as their gills. they both eat food floating on the top (and the same types also...) i've heard many people have had success with that combo, and some haven't. it's totally up to the temperment of the fish.

i had a male betta in a community tank with guppies and catfish, and never had a problem. the tank thrived for almost 2 years before one died...... and it was the betta. he was old...
lol

good luck, just try.

I used to have a male betta with an algae eater, and they did okay. I also have a gourami right now with a dwarf frog, a catfish, and an algae eater, and they do fine as well (gourami are relatives of bettas). Bettas are mainly aggressive towards other long-finned fish, because they consider them rivals- you can even put bettas in a community tank with plain, short finned fish if you want. I think your betta and frog will be fine, just make sure the tank is at least 10 gallons- you can't put a frog in a betta bowl, they need heat, filter, and aeration.

Depending on the space, a male betta will do well with a dwarf frog. The male betta attacks colors, and since the dwarf frog is as bland as it gets, it's safe in that respect. However, a male betta will also kill other tank members if it thinks that it's too crowded. So, if all you've got is one of those little "Betta tanks" then it's probably not enough room.

A few years ago, I had a 2 gallon tank with a dwarf frog, male betta, and a algae eatter in it. For the most part, they were always peaceful. My algae eatter would pester the dwarf frog, the betta would flare up at the algae eatter as if he was defending him. But as far as the dwarf frog and the betta, they never had a problem with each other.

The frogs can be aggressive too. I have one and he is really greedy when it's feeding time. He swats at the fish and shoves them out of the way to get to food. I feed him feeder guppies once in a while and he swallows them whole. Just be careful that the frogs don't get much bigger than the beta.
