I just got a snail and he seems quite content in my tank (even though the other fish keep trying to nibble his tenticle things.. but he keeps on making a beeline for the corner of the tank with the heater. I'm worried he may find himself on the element when the thermostat kicks in (ive already peeled him off it once!) and burn himself. Thoughts please..

I was thinking about selling my saltwater set up but had no idea what to ask for it.It is a 55 gallon, cast iron stand, fluval 105 canister filter, all the decorations and crushed coral(gravel),test kit, hydrometer, light, and hood. The fish are going to go with it and they are a yellow tang, a clown, and a blue reef chromis. Does anybody know what i should ask for this set-up?

I have a 55 gallon tank with two large African Cichlids (a Red Devil and a Buttikorphori), a 16 inch albino Channel Catfish, and a few others. The Red Devil is always stressed and he has contracted a horrible fungus as a result. I have dosed the tank with Ich-Rid time and time again and have now even quarantined him. Now whats happening is my small cory cats and pangatius cat have all died off from the fungus, pretty horribly...their attenae go limp, their eyes coat with cotton like fungus, they go blind and die. Now my Albino Channel is sick and I need a solution...the rid-ich isnt working, my fish are in trouble, and I need help. Oddly enough, the Buttikorphori has never shown signs of illness. What do i do?

I just set-up 70 gal goldfish tank where I had plan to keep not more than 4 adult goldfish, now everything is going well, finally its time to add goldfish. I want to keep goldfish, which is of fancy verities and expensive one (not commonly found in other's fish tank). I just want other to think that it is something special, more than likely.
Thank you!

The rest do not have gravid spots yet, but they also have not developed the gonopodium (sp?) does this mean they are male or female or still too early to tell. Some of them have black and yellow markings, the two females only have black...I just don't know. It's my first guppy batch...my second one just gave me 6 or 7 more itty bittys who I put in with the other 1 month old ones. How old do they start breeding? I don't want more pregnant guppies etc.

I heard people say you must cycle the water before introducing the fish. What does it mean, and should I do it, coz I don't think I have ever and even though, my goldfish are extremely healthy.

I saw some live baby crickets in the petstore. In my tank I have a few Comets, Fantails, Orandas and Black Widow Tetras. And also would the live food eventually cloud the water??

I have a male Betta who lives in a ten gallon tank with four zebra danios, a snail and several live plants. There used to be five danios, but a month or so ago one of them developed an abscess and died. Since that time out Betta has developed a really large boil on his right side and a smaller one on the left. His skin is really stretched out, and looks transparent, like inside all there is is fluid. He gets around the tank, he's maybe a little more lethargic than normal, but it seems like it must really suck for him. I gave the tank a full course of antibiotics (on the theory that the other danios were exposed too), and while he might be behaving a little more normally, the boil seems bigger.

So, should I catch him and lance the boil? That's what I'd do if it were on my foot or something, but jeez, this takes up like a quarter of his body! Please help!

It is a 32 Litre Glass tank and has a few goldfish in it. If it is safe, then what type of colour/colours do you reccomend?? The Tank also has smooth natural river stones, a banana lilly, a large pongol, an amazon sword and hair grass. What colours would go with that. Thnks.
