Ok so I have my fish tank set up so when its morning, there light goes off and when its night it comes on... Does anyone know if this is ok, and if my room light is on if they can't sleep or something, cause I've never see them really sleep/just float there still-like. I have 2 mollies 2 snails and 7 platys (two pregnant)

Most people have the light turn on during the day and off at night to give the fish a sense of day and night. And since they don't have eye lids they can't just close them to sleep at night, them just floating around is them sleeping, so turning the lights off give them a more restful sleep which we all need to stay healthy.

Do it the opposite. They need their "sleep" like we do. Turn the lights on during the day, and off at night. Make sure that you give them about 12-16 hours of light. Feed them about every 12 hours. It keeps them on the schedule and they know what to expect.

fish need at least 9-12 hours to rest in the dark i turn my light off at 10pm and turn it on at 7am i also turn the jets off

them just sitting still is them sleeping. your doing everything fine. i have fish and the way you have the light is right, it doesn't affect them it's only there for plants to grow and your room light won't bother them.
