I've tried the puppy pads and nothing and now I need her to try this. Our last hope is to have her outside the majority of the day when we're not here. Help!

It's about a dog that I really care about. She sometimes's pisses blood. The other day I was playing with her(she's not my dog, but a dog that I have a close bond to.) I snuck up on her like I usually do and this time she yelped in pain and bit me. I think she has pain in her lower back and legs. She also pees every few hours or she'll piss indoors. I asked how log she's been like this and found out it was like this for 3 years and she dosnt even have a vet. I brought up the vet and my suggestion was deemed as bullcrap.

Anyway.
I want to know what's wrong with her because I really love this dog.

We have an adorable 5 month old puppy who was just diagnosed with roundworm. I am very concerned about my children or I contracting it. The stories on the web are scary. I'm wondering if someone out there has actually contracted it. Also, I'm wondering if folks who've had dogs with worms have scrubbed their entire house? Our puppy poops in the yard and we clean it up although I think my kids have missed a few small poops--now I'm worried the entire yard is contaminated and we should all stay out of it. This is really getting to me!!!!!
Thanks to anyone who can help me.

He is 7 1/2 weeks. He eats all the time and now the past 2-3 days he hasn't wanted to eat much and he has had the poops for 2-3 days. Any idea what could be wrong with him? He is acting normal......he is my 1st dog so i'm new at all this... Any possiblity he has some form of worms? I have not switched his dog food or anything...he is eating the kind the breeders were feeding him before i bought him. If anyone knows what i should do let me know.

Here is the problem... Toxicariasis is a terrible disease that can cause blindness and what's more it is normally children that get it. Not all dogs carry the larvae. It starts when the dog fouls. Children come along and play in that area and one child may fall over. The larvae from the dog foul gets on the to the childs' hand and if the child eats without washing their hands, eggs will be swallowed. The eggs will hatch into small bugs and then the bugs will look around the body for soft tissue. It may find the tissue in the eye and it will damage the eye. This damage can cause blindness. Did you know 100 people in Britain go blind each year from Toxicariasis?

I have posted a question asking if there is anything you can put on grass where dogs have poo'd, but have been told i am over protective... is there anyway you can kill this disease, i am not anti - dog as we own a dog and have done always. Has anyone heard of anything which treats the grass? Thanks

My dogs seem to love to eat each others poop in the winter time. We call these poop-sicles. It is a disgusting habit that we can't seem to break. Asked the vet about it and he said no particular reason for doing this, just some dogs do and some dogs don't. We try hard to make sure the poop in the yard is picked up daily, but they always seem to find some anyway. Has anyone had a similar problem and had any luck in breaking this habit?

Is this normal???

k,k...my dog vomitted a few days ago with food that we never gave her! The vomit had chicken giblets that was GREEN>..& there was a lot of it!!! She ate her dinner that night but then ever since then she hasn't been eating @ all. She only drinks milk occasionally & drinks water! She just sits & sleeps...& her stomach seems like it's shaking & quivering. My mum thinks she ate rat poison...but I don't know. We haven't taken her to the vet yet.

I'm slightly worried that my dog doesn't know her peaking order. She's 10months old.

She gets before everyone else, she's allowed on my brother and my Mum's bed, she gets feed from the dinner table etc etc.

I don't let my dog on my bed and I feed her in her bowl.

I have argued and argued till the cows come home about this with my family! I have told them that they are teaching her bad habits, but they don't seem to be concerned.

Any suggestions how I can convince my family that they are teaching her bad habits?

My 14 - year - old mixed breed,Maura, has just been diagnosed with primary kidney disease ( early kidney failure.) her appettite had not been good for a few days,so I took her to the vet on Tuesday, only to find that she had lost 15 lbs. since her last visit in March. It wasn't apparent ,as she was chubby, and has a very heavy coat.My vet did bloodwork, and the kidney problem was found. Now,I have had dogs with this problem before, and special diets improved their symptoms and prolonged their lives, but Maura,a former chow -hound,refuses to eat ANYTHING,except for duck and rabbit jerky, and cooked chicken breast. She is NOT supposed to have all that protein.I bought Hill's k/d diet, both dry and canned, and some veggie dog biscuits, but she will have none of it.She is taking Tums as a phosphate binder, and Nutri -cal to try and stimulate her appetite and keep up her energy. She is also on amoxicillin.Does anyone have a good homemade diet for dogs with kidney disease that's highly palatable? Thanks.

Will a female in heat loose her will to eat? She hasnt really eaten anything in the last three days. She usually eats six cups of food a day, but she has hardly had three cups in the last four days. She is still drinking still and will eat her treats fine, but for some reason her food isnt interesting to her. She was just vet check, and got an A+, and there in no way she has been bred as I do not leave her outside unattended, AT ALL!!!!! I dont know what to do. I am worried about her because she is starting to look a little more slim.
Oh and after the last time trying to feed her today, she threw up her food. Should I take her to the vet? Or is this normal because she is in heat? (Dont worry I will be getting her fixed soon, so please dont nag cause I know the Pros and Cons already.) And if you are wondering this is the same dog(120 lb mastiff) that has issues suddenly about going into her outside kennel to potty. If this makes a difference. She is also pacing and panting alot more.
