Like human infants, puppies sleep A LOT in the weeks after they're born. At such age, shots are a traumatic, but necessary experience that can wear a pup out to sleep for hours.

But their sleeping is pretty much the norm for about 3 to 5 weeks, any longer and it might be a good idea to ask a veterinarian for some advice.

Sometimes puppies don't feel well after their shots or they could just be tired from the excitement of going to the vet. If all the puppy is doing is sleeping, I wouldn't worry, but if there are any other symptoms, call the vet.

Yes, it's normal ... and you'll find that it's pretty normal for a dog to just sleep away the rest of the day anytime they go to the vet for shots or a check-up ... they also tend to be sleepy after grooming, or anytime they've had a big day out!

It's nothing to worry about at all. As long as the pup doesn't seem sick in any way, just leave it alone and let it sleep.

Yes it is normal puppies to sleep after they get their first shot because sometimes puppies are tired from getting a shot. Why is a puppy supposed to well they get tired from driving down this street and that street.
