This brown and white dog is my "Orphan" Annie. A few months ago, she was homeless until she found me. I'm not sure of her breed so I've put her in a class of her own. I call Annie my All - American Full Blooded Mixed Breed... LOL!
She has several black spots on her belly, if that helps.
She's also extremely hyper. She meets most of the characteristics of a JRT but I still believe I see a hint of beagle in her face. Right now, she is 17 pounds... So what do you all think???

Does anyone have a homemade shampoo for dogs recipe? My dog is super smelly. She has all kinds of shampoos, and she gets a bath once a week, but she smells pretty bad by day 4. She's a beagle mix, and I read somewhere that Beagle's are naturally smellier than other breeds, but there has GOT to be something, to help her smell a little fresher longer. Anything?

When we got her from the Humane Society, Maggie was about five pounds underweight and wouldn't eat anything except cooked chiken. Now she eats anything and everything and we can't get her to stick to a diet. We live on a farm and she loves to run all over our ten acres as often as she likes throughout the day, so she isn't lacking in excersise. We suspect that she's getting into the compost outside and that thats where she gets extra food. But what goes out to the garden is mostly leftover fruits and veggies, things that Maggie won't eat when we offer them to her in the kitchen. She only gets a cup of food a day and usually doesn't eat it all. How do I get her to stop eating whatever it is that she's getting outside and get her down to a healthy weight?

My female Dachshund is afraid of EVERYONE but me. I can't stand it. I don't know what to do! I really bugs me that she does that because when she is outside and its time to come in she wont come to my step-mom when I am gone and then she goes and hides in the bushes. The people I bought her from NEVER EVER abused her, I've known them my entire life. They have 2 other doxies. The mom and sister of my doxie and they are very friendly to people. When I brought her home I just thought it was nervousness from going from one home to another. What do you suggest I do????

My family want a dog. We want a cute one that can go in a medium sized backyard, has lots of energy, has a good brain, goes well with kids (12 & 10) and will be easy to train. If you could provide a website and pics that would be good. I know it is a lot to ask for, but anything would help. If it's a good answer, I'm sure you will get the 10 points!

She is so lovable, but likes to bite, bark, etc. When she is calm it's like she is an angel.
I want to correct her bad behaver but I don't want to use a shock collar. And the training collars that spray them in the face are as pricie as the shock collers.
I have looked at remotes the makes noise, but with a 7yr. mix breed I'm scared that it will upset or bother her.

I have hear of using a spray bottle fulled with water and spraying them in the face. Out of all I think this is the best.

Can I have some help, please?

Ok, so I have two great dogs, one is three years old and the other is 8 months. The puppy, a male, is an excessive drooler during meal time. He has been dewormed and is up to date on shots and has regular vetrinary checkups. Anyways my other a female, has never in her life excessively drooled during meal time except for recently, and I am wondering, is she learning this behavior from the male puppy whom is a dominate dog?

I have an 11 week old German Shepherd puppy. I take him for walks twice a day. How long should these walks be? How far or how long should he be walking now? I don't want to over-exercise him, but I want him to get a good work out.

I have a terrible dilemma. I have a dog who I adore. I'm about to start a business where I'll be really busy a lot of the time. A nice couple has offered to take my dog. They'll give him a great life, I know them. Lots of family and other dogs to play with. My dog will be loved and cared for. But I love him. He's the sweetest, most loving dog I've ever had. He's a lap dog, all he wants is love love love. But I'll be busy. I can't cry any more. I have to decide. Help.

our dog had puppies 7 1/2 weeks ago. The puppy that we kept will not stop trying to nurse. The mom, Lady, i feel is just such a sweet dog that she does not try to stop them, but you can tell that she is getting annoyed. the puppy eats dry dog food as well, but whenever he is around lady he tries to nurse. is there anything that i can do to make him not want to nurse...other than having them apart from eachother all of the time.

i would really appreciate any advice.

About a week ago he was laying next to me and all of a sudden he jumps up and starts falling down and hitting himself on the walls, he kept raising his arms and his legs as if he couldn't control his body. His head would also sorta fall back, and he would twist around on the floor. He was also shivering like he was scared. I didn't know what was going on so i just pet him and gave him massages. I thought it was that he got cramps or something, but today it happened again in the car. Im taking him to the vet tomarrow to get him checked out but i was just wondering what it is.
