Ok, so I have two great dogs, one is three years old and the other is 8 months. The puppy, a male, is an excessive drooler during meal time. He has been dewormed and is up to date on shots and has regular vetrinary checkups. Anyways my other a female, has never in her life excessively drooled during meal time except for recently, and I am wondering, is she learning this behavior from the male puppy whom is a dominate dog?

In a way, maybe.

If you think about Pavlov's experiments in dog drooling, they associated a bell with food. They would eventually drool in response to the bell.

Maybe your female has associated the puppy's drooling with mealtime and now sees him drool and drools in anticipation of a meal.

I don't think I've ever used the word drool so many times in a row.

Some breeds of dogs drool more than others. I had a dog once that never drooled, except when I was cutting up green peppers; for some reason she loved them. Anyway, if a dog is overshot, a condition where their top teeth are too far in front of the bottom teeth, they will drool, and make a lot of mess when drinking water. I don't believe a dog can teach another dog to drool. Also, it is rare for a male puppy to be dominant over a female; usually females are dominant.

They don't learn to drool from one another.. Dominant dog or not, they don't teach the others to drool.. Get a cloth wipe the drool away and problem is solved. OR don't let them hang around while you eat.

You didn't say what breed the dogs are. Some dogs drool alot and others don't. And drooling is beyond their control. Its just a natural thing some dogs do and cannot be controlled.

You don't say what breeds, or mixes, your dogs are, but some breeds drool excessively.

I very much doubt that one of your dogs learned to drool from the other - dogs either drool or they don't.

Some dogs just have wet mouths, is it your mealtime or theirs? keep them out of the room at yours, and who cares if it's theirs, some dogs just drool.
