My 80 lb dog still thinks he's a puppy and tries to jump up and nip, does anyone have any experience or success with these alternatives to shock collars? The shock thing seems so harsh. :(

The past few times I have gone into Petsmart with my chinese crested puppy, I have been very rudely approached by their in-house "certified trainer". The first time she talked to us (uninvited), she told me that she couldn't believe someone would buy a dog so ugly and that she doesn't even think his breed should exist. She also talked to me again while I was letting him go potty outside (she was on a smoke break) and commented on how he would be all grown up soon and would soon lift his leg and pee on everything. I told her very politely that we do not encourage/allow that in our house. She told me that I was full of it and he would do it anyway...he doesn't, our 3 year old lab doesn't...they haven't seen it so they haven't learned the behaviour. The next time we went in, she just said "what an ugly little dog" and scolded someone for allowing their dog to sniff a display. WE ARE NOT IN HER CLASSES NOR WILL WE BE!!! How do I tell this lady to get lost? I am tired of her attitud

What can be done about an infestation of fleas on a dogs head and face? Dog is a pom weighing no more than 5 lbs. She is 7 years old.

She has had frontline used on her until last month then her owner switched to the one with all the stuff together.

My siberian husky has bloodshot eyes from time to time, but no oozing or anything else. Im just wondering what could cause that? There's no scratches, oozing or swelling, just the whites of her eyes get bloodshot...is there anything that could help alleviate this?

i recently got a 2 month old blue nosed pit puppy. she was very sick at first and was skinny and had diarrhea and was dehydraitng quickly. everyone said parvo, parvo, parvo. i was basically sure it wasnt parvo because she wasnt weak or low on energy and as i thought, it was just a bad case of worms.

she is doing entirely better now, has no worms, gained a fair amount of weight and when i went to visit the people i got her from i saw how much m runt had surpassed the rest of the litter already.

now though, i would like to hear from all xor any of you. What is a good vitamin you know of and have tried which has built your big dogs muscles, upped their weight, made them look more appealing??? im not fighting her and shes very energetic, i just want her to bulge out as much as she can because that indicates a very healthy dog. yes i walk her, feed her the right food n all that junk. but what vitamins do you know that will work??? (right now she gets typical walmart ones)

I found a beagle/chihuaha mix puppy in a mall parking lot & I decided to keep him. Well he is sooo scared of men. Whenever a man even walks in my house he jumps on my lap and barks and growls & if the guy moves too fast he will try and run to bite him. He seems to be ok with me, but if I move to quickly he squints his eyes or cowers like he is going to be hit. What can I do for him?? He is such a sweetie, and Im glad I have him.

What attracted you to that particular breed ?or that individual dog? i have owned a cocker spaniel and labrador retriver mix (adopted from a shelter) i just fell in love with her. i was at petco buying fish food and she was there for one of the special adoption days. she was tiny and precious. her story broke my heart and i knew i had to take her home with me. she had been brought in by a lady who said she couldnt sell her , apparantly she was too big and not cute enough. she was 8 weeks old when i adopted her and she was tiny, she only matured to about 30lbs and very cute. have also owned a rottweiler ,she was a great dog.my friend had to move into an apartment &felt it wasnt fair on her dog to keep her at the apartment. she asked me if i could take care of her for 2 weeks while she was in the process of finding her a home. i took care of her & i couldnt give her back.i couldnt imagine my life without her she just fit rght in as if she had been mine for years.
