I have nothing against well raised pit bulls but presa canario's are very large strong dogs who were bred to mainly be a protector...I would be frightened by one of them if I saw one. I have heard mixed reviews on them, one being a nice family raised dog that killed all their cats and other small animals...research the breed online more...dogs crossed most of the time are a little less likely to be 100% like their breed standards but still a pit bull which is a strong dog, and the presa are what I think is a foolish mix and only a very strong experienced dog owner should be taking on that type of dog..the shar pei isn't that bad.

I don't know about Presa Canarias, but pit bulls are muscular dogs, and very capable fighters. Your brother will have to make sure this dog is very well trained at least.
Good luck!

My first thought was "How Cute!" I bet this pup is absolutely adorable. I would be concerned if your brother is an irresponsible dog owner. But if he is responsible, takes his pup to obedience classes, has owned large breed dogs before, and is planning on getting his dog neutered, I wouldn't be concerned. Make sure your brother socializes this puppy very well, starting Now, with everything, dogs, kids, strangers... Encourage him to research each breed that this dog is mixed with. Spend a lot of time with the puppy while he is young so he gets to know you. Bad dogs come from bad owners. Encourage your brother to be a responsible owner!

In my opinion, it's all in the training. If your mate trains the dog well, socializes it with people and animals, and doesn't let the dog rule the house, they could have a terrific animal. Humans ruin animals, no bad dogs, just bad people/training.

bringing joy, laughter, fun and companionship to your friends life!
As long as the dog is socialized and trained properly. I would also neuter the dog so he can live a healthier life!
