Is it the aura this guy gives off or is he seriously a bad guy? Personally, I hate Bush - I don't believe he knows how to run the country, but I trust him. Ahmadinejad on the other hand, I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.

Factors to take into consideration (relatively speaking): - How much were they feared?
- How much devastation did they cause?
- How many battles they won?
- How long did their respective governments hold power because of them?
- Their influence on other countries.

Just a few examples: Napoleon's army, Hannibal's army, the army of Ancient Rome at it's peak, The Nazi war machine, The post WW2 U.S. Army, The Soviet Union Army, Alexander the Great's army, the army of Darius the Great, the Ottoman Empire army...

When did you come to the point where you no longer questioned if the Christian god was real or not.

I had been an atheist for years, but only recently came to the conclusion that Christianity is completely wrong. It literally took years for me to come to this point. I often questioned if I was wrong, and even tried to believe a few times that God was real. The thing is, I wanted to have that comfort that Christians have, to know that I would be reunited with my family. It took a long time to accept that it was wrong. After looking at other mythologies, and recognizing the fact it became rather clear that Christianity was wrong.

What was the pivotal point when you finally realized that Christianity was incorrect? Mine was when I found that there were no records of Jesus.. Of course, for me there were more reasons that I do no believe but that was the the pivotal point.

Now I feel a relief I had never experienced before, that I pushed past a point of disbelief to knowledge.

One way of doing something about it is to stop purchasing anything made in China. The Chinese have the power to stop this but they refuse to do so because they need Burma's oil!
If you are unsure whether or not a product is made in China, read the label and or directions for use. If the directions read like it was written by a 6 year old with dyslexia who has never learned the definition of plural then you probably have a Chinese item in your hand. If the following phrases appear on the label you are probably dealing with a Chinese product:
"Happy are we" "Happy Happy" "Happy is smile" "How smile is happy" "We to smile while happy" "How smile we are to happy" and finally "If happy and smile we smile happy"

It was a dark, stormy, night. The Marine was on his first assignment, and it was guard duty.

A General stepped out taking his dog for a walk. The nervous young Private snapped to attention, made a perfect salute, and snapped out "Sir, Good Evening, Sir!"

The General, out for some relaxation, returned the salute and said "Good evening soldier, nice night, isn't it?"

Well it wasn't a nice night, but the Private wasn't going to disagree with the General, so the he saluted again and replied "Sir, Yes Sir!".

The General continued, "You know there's something about a stormy night that I find soothing, it's really relaxing. Don't you agree?"

The Private didn't agree, but them the private was just a private, and responded "Sir, Yes Sir!"

The General, pointing at the dog, "This is a Golden Retriever, the best type of dog to train."

The Private glanced at the dog, saluted yet again and said "Sir, Yes Sir!"

The General continued "I got this dog for my wife."

The Private simply said "Good trade Sir!"

I've got a couple of friends who are vegetarian on the grounds of environmentalism, they cite the research about cows, the rainforest and global warming, (too long to type out here but I'm sure you've heard of it). I always point out, why not just not eat cow? Chickens don't produce nearly as much greenhouse gasses do they?

are there other environmental factors come into play that I'm missing?

Ok, have seen a fair bit said here over the months in GWS about how women should stay at home and look after the house, the kids and her husband and shouldn't go out and try and get a career or even simply work at all.
But isn't it unfair to the husband if the woman isn't out there earning money as well once the kids are old enough in order to help ease the burden on the husband working so many hours?
Wouldn't it be taking the easy way out if the woman remained at home once the children are school age, etc?

Also, if fathers are important to their children, why is it ok for them to have careers and mothers to not have careers?
Children need both parents to be there for them and I've heard of many men feeling resentful that they are being overworked and have not enough family time. Someone does have to bring in the money, yes, but why not both parents share the burden?
Thoughts please?

I'm not sure anyone knows this by name, but once i watched on PBS a wonderful series from the native american's point of view how the white man treated them. Does anyone know the name of that series, I know it was like 2-3 hours each night, several hours long, and years ago. It showed a lot of mistreatment of the native Americans. I just did a quick look at PBS but didn't recognize any, but I haven't had my coffee yet !! thanks
