One way of doing something about it is to stop purchasing anything made in China. The Chinese have the power to stop this but they refuse to do so because they need Burma's oil!
If you are unsure whether or not a product is made in China, read the label and or directions for use. If the directions read like it was written by a 6 year old with dyslexia who has never learned the definition of plural then you probably have a Chinese item in your hand. If the following phrases appear on the label you are probably dealing with a Chinese product:
"Happy are we" "Happy Happy" "Happy is smile" "How smile is happy" "We to smile while happy" "How smile we are to happy" and finally "If happy and smile we smile happy"

I'm sorry but your suggestion seems to be the awfully slow way to me plus the people will suffer terribly before the Junta. The people of Burma need something far more immediate. I agree with your assessment of China, yes, they are the key, but we need government to pull the strings that will force China's hand, not society fannying around boycotting Chinese products.

In truth, the Burmese army have the answer.Get them to turn and the problem is solved.

Unfortunately today, most governments will look at the behaviour of the Burmese junta and say "why can't we do that here?" The truth is, our governments don't care about the oppression of other nations peoples unless there is political mileage in it for themselves. Some promises may get made close to election time.
