Is it the aura this guy gives off or is he seriously a bad guy? Personally, I hate Bush - I don't believe he knows how to run the country, but I trust him. Ahmadinejad on the other hand, I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.

Let me rephrase that, I don't "hate" Bush, I dislike him.

Guess that question hit home with some of you huh? Don't make so many presumptions about America based on a question. And don't make any accusations about who I am over a couple sentences of text. I could have linked a few pages of proof to support what I feel, but I assumed others were educated enough to know what I'm talking about. My mistake. For those of you who've been living in a f*cking hole, which apparently you have, there's a couple recent articles about him denying having "homosexuals" in his country, and saying the Jewish Holocaust was a "myth". Are you kidding me? Imagine Bush saying this about the US, people would absolutely freak - and not even he is stupid enough to say that. Seriously, think about it. I'm not sure if you read my question wrong, but don't be so quick to insult the US and myself about a question when you obviously don't understand it.

abenezerscroogexx, your calling me narrow minded? So I guess the holocaust IS a myth then, right? Because if I was narrow minded, I would also ignore the fact that their were homosexuals in my country as well. You f*cking fail.

I doubt if Ahmadinejad is ever likely to affect your life directly, so it is neither here or there as to how you feel about him. Let the Iranian people decide whether they trust him or not.

I understand what your saying. I don't like Ahmadinejad either. A few days ago some of these same people were saying how they disliked him also. People are just giving you a hard time because you said you trust Bush.

**What is the deal with saying Americans are brainwashed? That gets so old after awhile. It's not like we are sitting in a room with propaganda being shown to us 24/7. We do have the Internet and can look at different news outlets if we choose to. It's ridiculous really.** Rant over....

I'm an Independent and I dislike/don't trust Bush but I don't think you should be called uninformed, uneducated, biased, a moron, and brainwashed just for stating an opinion. It's childish and uncalled for. People need to learn how to have a civilized conversation/discussion/debate without resorting to name calling. It makes them look unintelligent when they stoop to that level.

Maybe you're not as unbiased as you think you are. Are you sure you don't hate Ahmadinejad simply because he's Muslim and foreign? I don't even have an opinion about the guy.

How can you trust Bush but not believe he knows how to run the country? I don't really want to argue politics. I'm just commenting that it sounds contradictory to say something like that.

PS: Oh yeah, I actually forgot about that "no homosexuals in my country" comment. That was quite an outrageous quote; the crowd laughed and I can understand why. But they were using a translator and how can we know if what he said was translated accurately? It's possible that he was saying they don't publicly acknowledge homosexuality in Iran. Remember, it is a very different culture than the USA. Did you know that many Shiah Muslims consider homosexuality in public to be a sign of the end of the world? It was in the writings of Imam Jafar Sadiq, I believe. It not surprising to me that that they would not the same view of homosexuals in Iran as in the USA. It was only 40 years ago that homosexuality was considered a mental illness in the USA; that's not really very long ago.

He was also asked about denying the Holocaust. He said something like "I know that it happened, but what did the Palestinians have to do with it?" It may not make me very popular here, but I think that was a reasonable thing to say. The Germans were responsible for that, not Muslims. I do know that Iran recently had a "convention of holocaust deniers" but I don't know about Ahmadnejad personally saying it was a "myth."

I thought the whole thing about a college professor inviting a foreign leader to speak and then making all those nasty comments was inappropriate. What authority did a professor have to do such a thing? I thought that was why we had ambassadors and so on; a professor's job is to teach.

We were having a pretty good discussion here. I don't know why you find it necessary to use obscenities. You say you are educated, but you are not acting like an educated person when you use four letters words just because someone disagrees with you.

Sorry Kami but this does not really answer your querie. Your statement typically demonstrates the mentality of the so-called educated American moron. You don't see Bush as having the ability to run your country properly, but on the other hand you really do trust him. Says a lot for the educational system in your country as well. And I doubt you even heard of the other guy before you saw him on television

Because you have been brainwashed.

It appears that you put un in front of the wrong word. From reading what you posted, it appears that you are a biased and uneducated American.

Ahmadinejad is a figurehead and has very little power in Iran. He is all bark and no bite.

You've been brainwashed by the drip, drip, drip of anti Iran propaganda your Administration has been putting out for a number of months. They have been preparing you for a war with Iran (who knows, they may have decided conscription will be necessary for this one) so your reaction, educated or not is a result of that.
