Where are you? It's different in some parts of the world.

In the USA, your odds of getting a big movie part are fairly slim. I can't assess your prior experience--"short films and student films" don't sound like professional productions. So if you go to an audition for a big-budget movie, you'd be in a room full of other 12-year-olds, some of whom have been acting in big-budget movies, TV, or commercials since age 4. Most directors are going to want the performer with experience, one whose parents already know about show biz and what's expected (and how to find auditions for their little future celeb wannabe). And other directors will insist on an 18-year-old who can LOOK 12, since then there are no child labor laws to worry over.

The best course for your future as a professional actor--again in the USA and not necessarily elsewhere--is for you to get involved in as many amateur and school productions as you can. I'm presuming you're already in contact with some college film departments and that's how you've done student films--branch out into live theatre as well, find community and college plays that need a 12-year-old for a role--and if they don't have a spot in the cast for you, volunteer to work backstage. Also polish your skills through lessons/classes/workshops in acting, voice and dance.

Then plan to complete college with a bachelor of fine arts (BFA) in theatre performance--note, do NOT consider a bachelor of arts (BA), the extra "F" in the degree makes an enormous difference.

The BFA degree will give you all the knowledge you need to have a career as an actor.

If you have solid footage from your shorter films, you should find someone to edit them and put a reel together. It would have short cuts of your best work. Normally the entire reel is less than 6 minutes in length. They can be cut on CDs which are now only pennies apiece. If the reel is good you can send it to agencies. Usually most production companies do go thru agencies because they just don't have time to deal with every wannabe.

You can't. And if you did, they would not be interested in you.
Because you don't have and agent is a big reason. Big movies do not audition actors without agents. That's the name of that game.
