Most likely tapeworms. Tapeworms are the only segmented worms that dogs can have. They are transmitted by fleas (dog accidentally ingests a flea and flea has 'baby' tapeworm inside of it that grows into adult tapeworm in dog's intestines).

Tapeworms are easily treated but only with medicine from your vet. Remember that to make sure he doesn't get tapeworms again, though, you have to make sure he doesn't have fleas!

Tapeworms, by themselves, are not a medical emergency.

could be tape worms. take him to the vet and have him wormed, no big deal. Each segment has many eggs and can grow a new worms and humans can easily get these worms from dogs. do not delay in treatment. The dog is probably not in any immediate danger. there may be over the counter tapeworm specific medicine at your local pet shop. But to make sure what type of worm it is go to the vet.

These are TAPE worms and will completely fill up your dogs belly so he will become malnourished. Only a vet can treat this type of parasite because over the counter worming meds will not kill tapeworms. He is too old to be able to handle such a serious medical problem. Your dog's b;adder will probably rupture if you don't see a vet Whay have you let an obvioulsy ill dog go 2 days before having a vet see him ?

Save the segments and take them to your Vet. It sounds like tape worms if it's small segments. If your dog has fleas, then that is a good possibility.

There are oral medications for worms at your local pet stores. But if you want to rid them, best go to the Vet

ANY TIME UR DOG HAS WORMS YOU SHOULD TAKE THEM TO THE VET!!! and its not a heartworm, dogs dont deficate heartworms out through fecal matter, it sounds like a tapeworm. which over time can kill ur dog by depriving it of nutrients. it can also severly stunt growth in young puppies if not treated basically immediatley. yes now is time to go to the vet.

Your dog has worms, you gotta take him to the vet.
It's not harmless, it can be deadly.
There is a treatment...
I know this because I have two dogs and two vets that are related to me.
It's a parasite.
