The past few times I have gone into Petsmart with my chinese crested puppy, I have been very rudely approached by their in-house "certified trainer". The first time she talked to us (uninvited), she told me that she couldn't believe someone would buy a dog so ugly and that she doesn't even think his breed should exist. She also talked to me again while I was letting him go potty outside (she was on a smoke break) and commented on how he would be all grown up soon and would soon lift his leg and pee on everything. I told her very politely that we do not encourage/allow that in our house. She told me that I was full of it and he would do it anyway...he doesn't, our 3 year old lab doesn't...they haven't seen it so they haven't learned the behaviour. The next time we went in, she just said "what an ugly little dog" and scolded someone for allowing their dog to sniff a display. WE ARE NOT IN HER CLASSES NOR WILL WE BE!!! How do I tell this lady to get lost? I am tired of her attitud

I would report her to the store manager and to the PetsMart head office. I'm sure neither want someone like that representing them.
Of course me being me would just have to say "if ever he got as ugly as you I may think about letting him go, but while he is as adorable as he is he's going nowhere." As an owner of Chihuahua's I've had a few comments in my time about them being like rats or bats. I always have a comeback. I would be sure to have a good one on hand for your next visit. This person is just plain mean and very rude.
Chinese Cresteds are so cute. I have a few friends who have them. You know the truth. Don;t let people like that upset you.

I would bring it up with the store management. They are not there to be so ignorant. Although I now have chihuahuas I too used to cresteds, I grew up with about 5 of them( Candy, Beanie, Sparkie, Chynaman and Leather.) And yes it was very common to have someone come up and ask what's wrong with our dogs or tell us how disgusting they looked or make fun of them in some other highly intellegent form. I think it was just because they are such an uncommon breed that they are a little shocking to most, But anyone who actually got to know them totally loved them. they are about the only other breed of dog I care for as much as chi's. I think probably this outstanding woman at the petsmart has her perfectly manicured statue of a bischon sitting at home terrified to death to move cuz it wasn't told to and it may mess up it's hair. And that is what a dog is to her. an object of control and perfect stature. She probably feels there is no room for something different because that would mess up her world. Some people were just born ignorant, she only wishes she had a dog as kickass! Yes I would Say something to the stores managment next time your in the store because there's no excuse for that, it is her job to train obidience not be a b!tch and I probably would have a few choice things to say to her.But I'm not you, mabey what she really needs is to hug a four legged slighty hairy babies bum! ha wouldn't that be funny! Betch she'd fall in love immediatly I really wouldn't take it to heart though, after all, your the one that ones one of the most unique dogs on the planet. She just has the miserable job of trying to force them to do stuff they don't want to.heh heh heh..May the smell of a thousand bags of flaming dog poop infest her armpits!

Although "women" don't usually have nasty attitude problems (Where did that come from?) that trainer is being very unprofessional. You need to contact the manager of the store. All employees are required to be polite at all times to customers and keep their opinions to themselves. In addition, most retailers have some pretty rigid policies about employees speaking in an unprofessional and agumentative manner outside the building. This is a termination offense with all the retailers I have worked for.
The manager of that store does not want that kind of person working for him/her, believe me. Do this manager a favor and let him/her know what she is doing.

When she makes such awful rude comments ask her if she has looked in a mirror lately, I am sure your dog is a 100 times better looking and cuter than her, I have two males, 1 Lab 1 Pit Bull and neither one has ever urinated or marked their scent in the house. My Lab actually pees outside like a horse and never lifts his leg ever. People are just so rude and ignorant and I never allow rude comments about my dogs.

You will need the District Manager to correct this problem. I can assure you that if she is being rude to you then she is being rude to other people. Make sure you have her full name, store number, and location. Then call the Pet Smart where she works and ask them for the District Managers Name and number, you can also ask them what the store number is while you are there. Call the District Manager and tell him what is going on. Inform him that since the Manager obviously approves of such behavior that you thought it might be wise to go higher up the ladder. I can assure you that when I went in there next I would inform the woman that I spoke to "district managers first name"(if she asks who then explain) about your rudeness and lack of "TRAINING" and that you would appreciate she keep her eyes, ears, and nose out of you and your dogs business.

Next time you go in to that PetSmart, ask to talk to the store director and make a complaint. Everything you have reported is completely out of line. That she would approach you to offer classes is normal, but if she literally told you your dog was ugly and that she thought the breed shouldn't exist, and then she got pushy with you as you described, that is unprofessional and inexcusable.
Otherwise, if you don't want to talk to the store director, next time she approaches you, tell her flat out that you do not want her to talk to you or approach you again when you are in the store. If she gets rude with you when you tell her that, then talk to the store director.

Find another place to buy your pet supplies. In my area
there are some small locally owned pet stores that are
much better with customer service and a lot more helpful
than the big companies like Petsmart and Petco. Why go
somewhere where you aren't welcome and have to deal
with jerks like that lady. BTW, I love Chinese Crested,
I think they are cute and I have been bugging my husband
to get me a Peruvian Inca Orchid- he's from Peru and goes
down for business, so one of these days I hope to get one.

First off, write down everything she has said and/or done, including dates and times. Then you take that and speak to the store manager. If the store manager does not rectify the situation, then you follow up with an email to their corporate office.
Incidentally, if it helps you feel better, the next time she approaches you with her rude comments, just stare at her for a moment after she finishes; then say to her, "You know, if you're trying to convince us to sign up for your class, you're going to have to try a LOT harder." Then tell her you'll be speaking to store management about her boorish behavior and walk away. LOL

Yeah, shoving your way through people sounds a bit rude even if you didn't hit anyone! If you shoved your way past me I probably would have said something too! Anyhow, it's over now so don't worry about. Live and Learn.
