My family want a dog. We want a cute one that can go in a medium sized backyard, has lots of energy, has a good brain, goes well with kids (12 & 10) and will be easy to train. If you could provide a website and pics that would be good. I know it is a lot to ask for, but anything would help. If it's a good answer, I'm sure you will get the 10 points!

Well, an high energy dog, that's still easy to train........two main breeds come to mind.
Boxer & Border Collie. Australian Shepherds would fall under that category as well.
Look up different dog breeds here:
www.dogbreedinfo.com
You can also take a quiz on that website, to help give you a list of breeds that would be suitable for your family & home:

Jack Russells are extremely high energy, extremely intelligent, but I wouldn't call them ''easy to train''. They're a hunting breed, and once they get determined to do something, it's VERY hard to get them to focus on anything else.

Well that really depends on the dog(not so much the breed). Huskies can be very cute, but need a lot of attention. Jack Russel Terriers have tons of energy, but can also be bull headed. Labs are great family dogs, but if not trained right can be too much of a handful for a 10 year old.
Try going to petfinder.com or craigslist.com or even go look at your local shelter.
When you start looking for a dog, look for the one that is calm with it's soundings. It should not be jumping up and down and it should not be hiding in the corner. Just calm and content with it's soundings. If you go to a shelter, then you might not find the best dog the first time you go. Really take the time to find the right dog.
If you can, try to take a friend who is knowledgeable about dogs with you when you go look for dog.
Good luck!

In my revel in, the puppy breeds which can be the least prone to expand human aggression disorders are the Pug, Beagle, English Bulldog, and Boston Terrier. I have not particularly obvious an instance of any of the ones breeds that I could say had a significant aggression quandary, although I have met quite a lot of anxious Beagles. Well-bred Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Pit Bulls, and Greyhounds could be correct up there as good. On the opposite hand are the breeds which can be obviously to be competitive. I have by no means had a fine revel in with a Yorkie. In reality, of the 50 or so Yorkies that I have encountered, I could say all 50 had a few kind of aggression quandary. Chow Chows, Akitas, and Chihuahuas are correct up there as good. But, I could say that essentially the most competitive puppy breeds are the quite a lot of breeds of Terrier from Scotland, the Scottish Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Cairn Terrier, Dandie Dinmont Terrier, and Skye Terrier. Scotties and Westies in distinct are very bitey puppies.

You're the only one that can really answer that question. I would start by going to the AKC's website, and looking under "Breeds". That will get you to a description of every breed they recognize. Maybe that will help you narrow the list. Then go find as much as you can about that breed over the Internet or in books at your library or bookstore. If you get a high maintenance breed, and don't have a lot of time to devote to the dog, that will be a mismatch. If you don't want to spend a lot of time grooming, you probably don't want a long coated breed. Is it going to be strictly an outdoor dog, or an indoor dog? How much time do you have to devote to exercise, if ti has high exercise needs. In other words, you have to look at your lifestyle and home environment and try to find a dog that fits well.
I would also go to my local shelter and look at the dogs there. You'll see mostly mixed breed dogs, but there might be one that's just right. Or, locate a local rescue organization. They will have knowledgeable people who can help match you to the right dog.

I'm biased. I used to breed shelties. They are extremely intelligent, loyal, have a lot of energy, great with children, one of the best dogs in obedience training. I had a couple that were so smart that I had to spell some words like "walk" or "car ride" so that they didn't think we were going right away. Eventually, they learned what the spelling of the words meant. They need to be brushed once a week. Some good websites below.

Sounds just like a Lab, they fit your description to a T. I am a total Lab fanatic and I have had so many breeds but just adore the Labs. They are the most affectionate, devoted, intelligent and fun loving dogs. They are great with kids and have tons of energy.
The website www.dogbreedinfo.com is an excellent site for finding a breed perfect for your needs. They have a quiz you take, put in what you want in a dog your dog experience, the dog size, etc and it will give you a list of breeds perfect for you and your family.

I would not put a Jack Russell with children. They are stubborn, dominating, and tend to bite. They are not that easy to train either.
To meet all your criteria, I would suggest:
Boxer
Brittany
Lab
Golden Retriever
Pointer
Standard Poodle
Keep in mind that small dogs are generally not as tolerant of children as medium to large dogs. The dogs I named are all in the 40-60lb range, which is a good size for kids that age. They are all friendly and trainable, and have plenty of energy.

Impossible question to answer - everyone has their preference, their favorite breed.
Perhaps go to a few of your local shelters/SPCA and take a look. You're bound to find a furry friend that you will fall in love with, and will suit your needs!
Good luck!
