my dog will NOT wear a colar! always when i put it on him, he takes it off! please tell me what to do! :)

If he is taking it off,it's either a break-away cat collar or you are not placing the collar on him properly.When first putting a collar on an animal,never leave him unattended.Keep an eye on him,and just leave it on him for an hour or two,then remove for the day.Try to leave it on just a little longer each day,until he gets used to it.

Need to buy a better colar. Or your putting it on too loose. A good colar he won't be able to get off. Take him to the pet store and have them fit him. Try a harness if all else fails. They are unable to get those off. Fits around his arms and neck.

how can a dog take a collar of. they dont have apposable thumbs. whenever ur dog manages to get the collar off put it back on it. its not that difficult. it needs to be trained

The collar isn't on tight enough. It should be tight enough to not come off, but loose enough to get 2 fingers, side-by-side, under the collar.

First, make sure the collar is not on too loose. He shouldn't be able to take it off.
Second, if that doesn't help, consider purchasing a harness.

Sweetie, he is a dog. Put it on and leave it alone. If you put it on correctly, he can't get it off. He just doesn't have a choice in this matter.

Does he have opposable thumbs? Try a different locking mechanism.
