Frontline Plus. Works wonders on my animals. Also, for your carpet try the Hartz spray or Sprinkle..I think it works well.

Call an exterminator and get rid of them in your house. It will save you lots of money verses the stuff you buy in the store. Take your animals to the groomer and get them a good flea bath. Fleas like to live and lay eggs in rugs so I would make sure the exterminator treats those really good or throw them out. Then go to Home Depot or Lowe's and ask what you can put down outside that will kill fleas so when your dogs come back inside, they won't bring them back in. Sometimes you need to get the exterminator to come back a second time.

Most important thing is to NOT use anything from a store or supermarket. None of their spot-ons, no powders, collars or shampoos. These things do not work and many, like Hartz and Zodiac, have caused many deaths in animals. You've been warned!
Go to your vets for some safe and EFFECTIVE treatment. They can give you Frontline, Advantage or Revolution for all your pets, and a proper house spray. Whichever treatment you get for your pets, make sure it gets on their skin, not on their fur.

You should use a mixture of boric acid and salt. Boric acid acts as a desiccant and dries out the exoskeleton of the flea, but does not have any side effect on human beings or animals. Check this out http://pests.in/fleas.html

I have been through this before....I had to get all the animals deflea-ed either at a dog groomers or home shampoo can be effective...My husband swears by Dawn dishwashing liquid....BUT....you can't return them to your home until you BOMB your home with FLEA-FOGGERS you can buy in any department store or Home Depot/Loews. Everybody has to get out of the house for a couple of hours...(read directions) You might even have to BOMB your cellar if you are on the first floor.

Put the animals outside where they belong and set off a few " bug bombs" in the house. Then get flea collars for the pets.
