Will a female in heat loose her will to eat? She hasnt really eaten anything in the last three days. She usually eats six cups of food a day, but she has hardly had three cups in the last four days. She is still drinking still and will eat her treats fine, but for some reason her food isnt interesting to her. She was just vet check, and got an A+, and there in no way she has been bred as I do not leave her outside unattended, AT ALL!!!!! I dont know what to do. I am worried about her because she is starting to look a little more slim.
Oh and after the last time trying to feed her today, she threw up her food. Should I take her to the vet? Or is this normal because she is in heat? (Dont worry I will be getting her fixed soon, so please dont nag cause I know the Pros and Cons already.) And if you are wondering this is the same dog(120 lb mastiff) that has issues suddenly about going into her outside kennel to potty. If this makes a difference. She is also pacing and panting alot more.

She isnt acting sick really, just antsy and wont eat.
Should I mix her food with soft food to make it more apealing to her? No I havent changed her food, I feed Black Gold, and she has never had anything else.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.................

I'm basing this solely on my experience here...I had a b*tch that was a food hound...never turned down a crumb of food in her life..was always the first to finish her dinner...After her last heat cycle, she went off her food. I was talking to a breeder friend of mine, and she had the same experience, she took her to the vet and it was pyometra.
The next day, I took my girl in , and sure enough, she had developed pyo...had to do an emergency spay....

I would agree with the last two people.Take her to the vet to be checked for a possible pyometra. It's deadly if not treated right away, with an emergency spay and antibiotics.

I think she needs to go to the vet. the panting & pacing could be from pain.

the not eating could be from THE heat or HER heat!

the longer you wait the higher at risk she is for cancer & pyometra

A dog in heat feels like crap. Their horomones are all jacked up and they just don't feel good. Much like a human with PMS, they feel crappy and their appetite is very likely to go up or down as well as their moods. If your dog was checked and was given a clean bill of health, then don't worry. She is most likely experiencing a normal heat cycle and just needs some time to return to normal.

wow, when a dog is restless & panting
heavely that is a sign of labor, but if I recall
my chow/sharpi did the same on her 3rdheat. if it keeps up I would take her in to
get checked. I owned a lab & half mastiff
years ago,his name was KingDing he was
a marmaduke.
hope your dog gets better.

When she's spayed, you won't have to worry about heats, pyometra, or any of that crap.

Call your vet and schedule an appointment for her spay ASAP.
