Puppies go through this, but 1 year old dogs have generally been trained not to long before this age. It's strictly a dominance issue - the dog needs some training is all. Put a stop to it now. If your kids are old enough, they need to be the ones telling the dog "off!!"

Mine did this too. She must learn what no means and respect everyone who says it. This is not mating it is dominance and many dogs and bitches will move to this behaviour when they are over stimulated (not in that sense), and will therefore often do it to children as they play.
She is still young and it is easy to stop but it must be EVERY time whether on the children or anyone else. Consistency in all things makes dog training easier.

Yes but not acceptable ,You really need to stop the behaviour the sooner the better .It is to do with hormones and dominence your ***** is full, of hormones and this is what causes the behaviour, she feels in a higher place in the pecking order than the children, so thats why they are the chosen ones.Try to stop the dog by telling her no,and if all else fails see the vet .Has she been neutered ,this can help .Also tablets to regulate her hormone levels. My daughters dog does this but only with her own pillow, so thats another idea if you cant stop her change her target ,good luck!

yeah it is absolutely normal for pups to do this and the best thing you can do is just stop the dog from doing this by giving it a cuddly toy or something else it can play with and do this too. I hope my advice helps take care and good luck.

It is dominance, she has no respect for the children and see's herself as a leader to them. Get her in obedience fast and get the kids involved in her training to let her know she is below ALL humans in pack order. This is urgent. She is maturing and this will only get worse if you don't do something serious about it now. It could also lead to her attacking a child who might try to take a toy or bone from her. Get it taken care of NOW.

Spaying generally decreases this behavior.

Training will help also, 'mounting' behaviors stem from dominance issues. Your dog is not being properly disciplined, so she thinks she runs the show. Sign up for some obedience classes.

It is perfectly normal. Just divert her attention to something else when she does it. If she hasn't been spayed, it could be because she is coming into season. Spaying makes no difference to this behaviour - many spayed b1tches do it too., it's just a question of saying "No" firmly and getting her attention onto something else
